THE PATH OF ENOCH · Day 3 of 7
The 7 Heavens
1 · READ THE TEXT
2 Enoch 3:1-9 & 2 Corinthians 12:2
2 Enoch (Secrets of Enoch) 3:1
Open in the reader →1It came to pass, when Enoch had told his sons, that the angels took him on to their wings and bore him up on to the first heaven and placed him on the clouds. And there I looked, and again I looked higher, and saw the ether, and they placed me on the first heaven and showed me a very great Sea, greater than the earthly sea.
2 Corinthians 12:2
Open in the reader →2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
2 · UNDERSTAND
In the Enochic literature, the patriarch is led by angels through the seven heavens, each representing a different dimension of celestial creation. From the first heaven, where the clouds and dew are kept, to the seventh heaven, where the resplendent throne of the Most High is surrounded by seraphim and cherubim, Enoch discovers the perfect order and harmony of the cosmos. This ascension shows us that the physical world is only the surface of a far vaster and more majestic spiritual reality, sovereignly governed by the Creator.
