Hagiography
Amos the prophet: he was born in Thekoue, in the land of Zebulun.
2He is the father of Isaiah the prophet.
3Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, having often beaten him, and lying in wait for him, reviled him; and at last the son of Amaziah slew him, striking him with a club on the temple, because he rebuked him concerning the snare of the two golden heifers.
4And still breathing, he came to his own land; and he died, and was buried there with his fathers.
