Ahijah the Shilonite: he was from Shiloh, of the tribe of Judah, where in olden times was the tent of the ark, from the city of Armathaim, of Eli the priest.

This prophet spoke concerning Solomon the son of David, that he would offend God.

He also rebuked Jeroboam, that if he should reign, he would walk with the Lord in guile; for he saw a vision of a yoke of oxen trampling the people and running upon the priests.

And he said to Solomon that women would turn him away from the Lord.

And to Jeroboam he said that through his two heifers he would offend the Lord, and that his race would be in bondage.

And Ahijah died, and was buried near the oak that is in Shiloh.
