Vidas dos Profetas 2

1Aías, o silonita: era de Siló, da tribo de Judá, onde antigamente estava a tenda da arca, da cidade de Armataim, do sacerdote Eli.

1Ahijah the Shilonite: he was from Shiloh, of the tribe of Judah, where in olden times was the tent of the ark, from the city of Armathaim, of Eli the priest.

2Este profeta falou acerca de Salomão, filho de Davi, que ofenderia a Deus.

2This prophet spoke concerning Solomon the son of David, that he would offend God.

3Repreendeu também Jeroboão, dizendo que, se viesse a reinar, andaria com o Senhor com dolo; pois viu uma visão: uma junta de bois que pisava o povo e investia contra os sacerdotes.

3He also rebuked Jeroboam, that if he should reign, he would walk with the Lord in guile; for he saw a vision of a yoke of oxen trampling the people and running upon the priests.

4E disse a Salomão que mulheres o afastariam do Senhor.

4And he said to Solomon that women would turn him away from the Lord.

5E a Jeroboão disse que, por causa das suas duas novilhas, ofenderia o Senhor e que a sua descendência estaria em servidão.

5And to Jeroboam he said that through his two heifers he would offend the Lord, and that his race would be in bondage.

6E Aías morreu e foi sepultado perto do carvalho que está em Siló.

6And Ahijah died, and was buried near the oak that is in Shiloh.
