1 Clemente 13

1Sejamos, portanto, humildes de mente, irmãos, pondo de lado toda arrogância e presunção e insensatez e ira, e façamos o que está escrito. Pois o Espírito Santo diz: Não se glorie o sábio na sua sabedoria, nem o forte na sua força, nem o rico nas suas riquezas; mas o que se gloria, glorie-se no Senhor, para buscá-Lo e praticar juízo e justiça, lembrando-se sobretudo das palavras do Senhor Jesus, que falou ensinando tolerância e longanimidade:

1Let us therefore be lowly minded, brethren, laying aside all arrogance and conceit and folly and anger, and let us do that which is written. For the Holy Ghost saith, Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, nor the strong in his strength, neither the rich in his riches; but he that boasteth let him boast in the Lord, that he may seek Him out, and do judgment and righteousness most of all remembering the words of the Lord Jesus which He spake, teaching forbearance and long-suffering:

2pois assim falou: Tende misericórdia, para que recebais misericórdia: perdoai, para que vos seja perdoado. Como fizerdes, assim se vos fará. Como derdes, assim se vos dará. Como julgardes, assim sereis julgados. Como usardes de bondade, assim se usará de bondade convosco. Com a medida com que medirdes, com ela se vos medirá.

2for thus He spake Have mercy, that ye may receive mercy: forgive, that it may be forgiven to you. As ye do, so shall it be done to you. As ye give, so shall it be given unto you. As ye judge, so shall ye be judged. As ye show kindness, so shall kindness be showed unto you. With what measure ye mete, it shall be measured withal to you.

3Com este mandamento e estes preceitos confirmemo-nos, para andarmos em obediência às Suas santas palavras, com humildade de mente.

3With this commandment and these precepts let us confirm ourselves, that we may walk in obedience to His hallowed words, with lowliness of mind.

4Pois a santa palavra diz: Para quem olharei, senão para o que é manso e quieto e teme as Minhas palavras?

4For the holy word saith, Upon whom shall I look, save upon him that is gentle and quiet and feareth Mine oracles?
