1 Clemente 24

1Entendamos, amados, como o Mestre nos mostra continuamente a ressurreição que haverá depois; da qual fez do Senhor Jesus Cristo as primícias, quando O ressuscitou dos mortos.

1Let us understand, dearly beloved, how the Master continually showeth unto us the resurrection that shall be hereafter; whereof He made the Lord Jesus Christ the firstfruit, when He raised Him from the dead.

2Contemplemos, amados, a ressurreição que acontece na sua estação própria.

2Let us behold, dearly beloved, the resurrection which happeneth at its proper season.

3O dia e a noite nos mostram a ressurreição. A noite adormece, e o dia se levanta; o dia parte, e a noite vem.

3Day and night show unto us the resurrection. The night falleth asleep, and day ariseth; the day departeth, and night cometh on.

4Observemos os frutos, como e de que maneira se dá a semeadura.

4Let us mark the fruits, how and in what manner the sowing taketh place.

5O semeador sai e lança à terra cada uma das sementes; e estas, caindo na terra secas e nuas, decompõem-se: então, da sua decomposição, o poder da providência do Mestre as levanta, e, de uma só, multiplicam-se muitas vezes e dão fruto.

5The sower goeth forth and casteth into the earth each of the seeds; and these falling into the earth dry and bare decay: then out of their decay the mightiness of the Master's providence raiseth them up, and from being one they increase manifold and bear fruit.
