1 Clemente 29

1Aproximemo-nos, pois, d'Ele em santidade de alma, levantando a Ele mãos puras e imaculadas, com amor para com o nosso Pai brando e compassivo, que nos fez porção escolhida para Si.

1Let us therefore approach Him in holiness of soul, lifting up pure and undefiled hands unto Him, with love towards our gentle and compassionate Father who made us an elect portion unto Himself.

2Pois assim está escrito: Quando o Altíssimo dividiu as nações, quando dispersou os filhos de Adão, fixou os limites das nações segundo o número dos anjos de Deus. O Seu povo Jacó tornou-se a porção do Senhor, e Israel a medida da Sua herança.

2For thus it is written: When the Most High divided the nations, when He dispersed the sons of Adam, He fixed the boundaries of the nations according to the number of the angels of God. His people Jacob became the portion of the Lord, and Israel the measurement of His inheritance.

3E em outro lugar diz: Eis que o Senhor toma para Si uma nação do meio das nações, como um homem toma as primícias da sua eira; e o santo dos santos sairá dessa nação.

3And in another place He saith, Behold, the Lord taketh for Himself a nation out of the midst of the nations, as a man taketh the first fruits of his threshing floor; and the holy of holies shall come forth from that nation.
