1 Clemente 32

1Se alguém as considerar uma por uma, com sinceridade, entenderá a magnificência dos dons que por Ele são dados.

1If any man will consider them one by one in sincerity, he shall understand the magnificence of the gifts that are given by Him.

2Pois de Jacó vêm todos os sacerdotes e levitas que servem ao altar de Deus; dele vem o Senhor Jesus quanto à carne; dele vêm reis e governantes e regentes na linhagem de Judá; sim, e as demais tribos dele são tidas em não pequena honra, visto que Deus prometeu, dizendo: A tua semente será como as estrelas do céu.

2For of Jacob are all the priests and levites who minister unto the altar of God; of him is the Lord Jesus as concerning the flesh; of him are kings and rulers and governors in the line of Judah; yea and the rest of his tribes are held in no small honor, seeing that God promised saying, Thy seed shall be as the stars of heaven.

3Todos eles, portanto, foram glorificados e engrandecidos, não por si mesmos ou pelas suas próprias obras ou pela justiça que praticaram, mas pela Sua vontade.

3They all therefore were glorified and magnified, not through themselves or their own works or the righteous doing which they wrought, but through His will.

4E assim nós, tendo sido chamados pela Sua vontade em Cristo Jesus, não somos justificados por nós mesmos, nem pela nossa própria sabedoria ou entendimento ou piedade ou obras que praticamos em santidade de coração, mas pela fé, pela qual o Deus Todo-Poderoso justificou todos os homens que houve desde o princípio; a quem seja a glória para todo o sempre. Amém.

4And so we, having been called through His will in Christ Jesus, are not justified through ourselves or through our own wisdom or understanding or piety or works which we wrought in holiness of heart, but through faith, whereby the Almighty God justified all men that have been from the beginning; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
