1 Clemente 41

1Cada um de vós, irmãos, na sua própria ordem, dê graças a Deus, mantendo boa consciência e não transgredindo a regra estabelecida do seu serviço, mas agindo com todo o decoro.

1Let each of you, brethren, in his own order give thanks unto God, maintaining a good conscience and not transgressing the appointed rule of his service, but acting with all seemliness.

2Não em todo lugar, irmãos, se oferecem os sacrifícios diários contínuos, ou as ofertas voluntárias, ou as ofertas pelo pecado e as ofertas pela culpa, mas somente em Jerusalém. E mesmo ali a oferta não é feita em qualquer lugar, mas diante do santuário, no átrio do altar; e isto também por meio do sumo sacerdote e dos ministros acima mencionados, depois que a vítima a ser oferecida foi inspecionada quanto a defeitos.

2Not in every place, brethren, are the continual daily sacrifices offered, or the freewill offerings, or the sin offerings and the trespass offerings, but in Jerusalem alone. And even there the offering is not made in every place, but before the sanctuary in the court of the altar; and this too through the high priest and the aforesaid ministers, after that the victim to be offered hath been inspected for blemishes.

3Os que, portanto, fazem qualquer coisa contrária à decorosa ordenança da Sua vontade recebem a morte como castigo.

3They therefore who do anything contrary to the seemly ordinance of His will receive death as the penalty.

4Vedes, irmãos, na proporção em que maior conhecimento nos foi concedido, tanto mais estamos expostos ao perigo.

4Ye see, brethren, in proportion as greater knowledge hath been vouchsafed unto us, so much the more are we exposed to danger.
