1Tomai a epístola do bendito Paulo, o Apóstolo.

1Take up the epistle of the blessed Paul the Apostle.

2Que vos escreveu ele primeiro, no princípio do Evangelho?

2What wrote he first unto you in the beginning of the Gospel?

3Na verdade, ele vos advertiu no Espírito a respeito de si mesmo e de Cefas e de Apolo, porque já então tínheis feito partidos.

3Of a truth he charged you in the Spirit concerning himself and Cephas and Apollos, because that even then ye had made parties.

4Contudo, aquela formação de partidos trouxe-vos menos pecado; pois éreis partidários de Apóstolos de alta reputação, e de um homem aprovado por eles.

4Yet that making of parties brought less sin upon you; for ye were partisans of Apostles that were highly reputed, and of a man approved in their sight.

5Mas agora reparai quem são os que vos perverteram e diminuíram a glória do vosso renomado amor para com a irmandade.

5But now mark ye, who they are that have perverted you and diminished the glory of your renowned love for the brotherhood.

6É vergonhoso, amados, sim, inteiramente vergonhoso e indigno da vossa conduta em Cristo, que se relate que a firmíssima e antiga Igreja dos coríntios, por causa de uma ou duas pessoas, faz sedição contra os seus presbíteros.

6It is shameful, dearly beloved, yes, utterly shameful and unworthy of your conduct in Christ, that it should be reported that the very steadfast and ancient Church of the Corinthians, for the sake of one or two persons, maketh sedition against its presbyters.

7E este relato chegou não somente a nós, mas também aos que diferem de nós, de modo que ainda amontoais blasfêmias sobre o Nome do Senhor por causa da vossa insensatez, e além disso criais perigo para vós mesmos.

7And this report hath reached not only us, but them also which differ from us, so that ye even heap blasphemies on the Name of the Lord by reason of your folly, and moreover create peril for yourselves.
