1 Clemente 63

1Portanto é justo que prestemos atenção a tão grandes e tantos exemplos e que submetamos o pescoço e, ocupando o lugar de obediência, tomemos o nosso lado com os que são os líderes das nossas almas, para que, cessando desta insensata dissensão, alcancemos a meta que jaz diante de nós em veracidade, mantendo-nos afastados de toda falta.

1Therefore it is right for us to give heed to so great and so many examples and to submit the neck and occupying the place of obedience to take our side with them that are the leaders of our souls, that ceasing from this foolish dissension we may attain unto the goal which lieth before us in truthfulness, keeping aloof from every fault.

2Pois nos dareis grande alegria e regozijo, se prestardes obediência às coisas escritas por nós por meio do Espírito Santo, e extirpardes a injusta ira do vosso ciúme, segundo a súplica que fizemos por paz e concórdia nesta carta.

2For ye will give us great joy and gladness, if ye render obedience unto the things written by us through the Holy Spirit, and root out the unrighteous anger of your jealousy, according to the entreaty which we have made for peace and concord in this letter.

3E enviamos também homens fiéis e prudentes que andaram entre nós desde a juventude até a velhice irrepreensivelmente, os quais serão também testemunhas entre vós e nós.

3And we have also sent faithful and prudent men that have walked among us from youth unto old age unblamably, who shall also be witnesses between you and us.

4E isto fizemos para que saibais que tivemos, e ainda temos, toda solicitude por que estejais depressa em paz.

4And this we have done that ye might know that we have had, and still have, every solicitude that ye should be speedily at peace.
