1 Coríntios 14

1Segui o amor, e desejai com zelo pelos dons espirituais; porém principalmente que profetizeis.

1Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

2Porque o que fala língua estranha, não fala aos seres humanos, mas sim a Deus; porque ninguém o entende, mas em espírito fala mistérios.

2For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

3Mas o que profetiza, fala aos seres humanos para edificação, convencimento, e consolação.

3But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

4O que fala língua estranha edifica a si mesmo; mas o que profetiza edifica à igreja.

4He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

5E eu quero que todos vós faleis línguas, porém mais ainda que profetizeis; porque o que profetiza é maior que o que fala línguas, a não ser que também interprete, para que a igreja receba edificação.

5I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

6E agora irmãos, se eu viesse até vos falando línguas, o que vos aproveitaria, se não vos falasse ou por revelação, ou por conhecimento, ou por profecia, ou por doutrina?

6Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

7E até as coisas inanimadas, que produzem som, seja flauta, seja harpa, se não derem distinção de sons, como saberá o que se toca com a flauta, ou com a harpa?

7And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8Porque também se a trombeta der som incerto, quem se preparará para a guerra?

8For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9Assim mesmo também vós, se com a língua não derdes palavra compreensível, como se entenderá o que se diz? Porque estareis falando para o ar.

9So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10Por exemplo, há tantos tipos de vozes no mundo, e nenhuma delas é muda.

10There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11Portanto, se eu não souber o propósito da voz, serei estrangeiro para o que fala, e o que fala será estrangeiro para mim.

11Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

12Assim também vós, dado que desejais os dons espirituais, procurai neles abundar, para edificação da igreja.

12Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

13Portanto, o que fala em língua estranha, ore para que possa interpretar.

13Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

14Porque se eu orar em língua estranha, meu espírito ora, mas meu entendimento fica sem fruto.

14For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15Então é o que? Orarei com o espírito, mas também orarei com o entendimento; cantarei com o espírito, mas também cantarei com o entendimento.

15What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16De outra maneira, se tu bendisseres com o espírito, como aquele que não tem conhecimento dirá amém por teu bendizer? Pois ele não sabe o que tu dizes.

16Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

17Porque em verdade tu bem dás graças; mas o outro não é edificado.

17For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18Graças dou a meu Deus, que mais línguas falo que todos vós.

18I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

19Porém eu quero mais falar na igreja cinco palavras com meu entendimento, para que eu também possa instruir aos outros, do que dez mil palavras em língua estranha.

19Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

20Irmãos, não sejais meninos no entendimento, mas sede meninos na malícia, e adultos no entendimento.

20Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

21Na Lei está escrito: A este povo falarei por gente de outras línguas, e por outros lábios; e ainda assim não me ouvirão, diz o Senhor.

21In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

22Então as línguas estranhas são por sinal, não para os que creem, mas para os que não creem; e a profecia não é para os que não creem, mas para os que creem.

22Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

23Pois se toda a igreja se reunir, e todos falarem línguas estranhas, e entrarem alguns sem entendimento ou descrentes, não dirão que estais loucos?

23If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

24Mas se todos profetizarem, e algum sem entendimento ou descrente entrar, por todos é convencido, e por todos é julgado.

24But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

25E assim os segredos de seu coração ficam manifestos, e assim, lançando-se sobre seu rosto, adorará a Deus, reconhecendo publicamente que Deus está entre vós.

25And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

26Então o que há, irmãos? Quando vos reunis, tem cada um de vós salmo, tem doutrina, tem língua estranha, tem revelação, tem interpretação, tudo se faça para edificação.

26How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

27E se alguém falar em língua estranha, sejam dois, ou no máximo três, e alternando-se, e um que interprete.

27If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

28Mas se não houver intérprete, cale-se na igreja, fale porém consigo mesmo, e com Deus.

28But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29E falem dois ou três profetas, e os outros julguem.

29Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

30Mas se a outro, que estiver sentada, for revelada alguma coisa, cale-se o primeiro.

30If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

31Porque todos vós podeis profetizar, um após o outro, para que todos aprendam, e sejam todos fortalecidos.

31For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

32E os espíritos dos profetas estão sujeitos aos profetas.

32And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

33Porque Deus não é de confusão, mas de paz, como em todas as igrejas dos santos.

33For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

34Vossas mulheres fiquem caladas nas igrejas; porque não lhes é permitido falar, mas que estejam sujeitas, como também a Lei o diz.

34Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

35E se quiserem aprender alguma coisa, perguntem a seus próprios maridos em casa; porque é impróprio as mulheres falarem na igreja.

35And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36Por acaso a palavra de Deus saiu de vós? Ou ela somente chegou a vós?

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

37Se alguém pensa ser profeta, ou espiritual, reconheça que as coisas que escrevo são mandamento do Senhor.

37If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

38Porém se alguém ignora, que ignore.

38But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

39Portanto, irmãos, desejai com zelo profetizar, e não impeçais o falar línguas estranhas.

39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

40Fazei tudo decentemente e com ordem.

40Let all things be done decently and in order.
