1 Enoque 12

1Antes destas coisas Enoque foi escondido, e nenhum dos filhos dos homens sabia onde ele estava escondido, nem onde habitava, nem o que fora feito dele.

1Before these things Enoch was hidden, and no one of the children of men knew where he was hidden, and where he abode, and what had become of him.

2E as suas ocupações tinham que ver com os Vigilantes, e os seus dias eram com os santos.

2And his activities had to do with the Watchers, and his days were with the holy ones.

3E eu, Enoque, estava bendizendo o Senhor da majestade e o Rei dos séculos, e eis que os Vigilantes me chamaram — a mim, Enoque, o escriba — e me disseram:

3And I Enoch was blessing the Lord of majesty and the King of the ages, and lo! the Watchers called me—Enoch the scribe—and said to me:

4Enoque, escriba da justiça, vai, anuncia aos Vigilantes do céu, que deixaram o alto céu, o santo lugar eterno, e se contaminaram com mulheres, e fizeram como fazem os filhos da terra, e tomaram para si mulheres:

4‘Enoch, thou scribe of righteousness, go, declare to the Watchers of the heaven who have left the high heaven, the holy eternal place, and have defiled themselves with women, and have done as the children of earth do, and have taken unto themselves wives:

5Fizestes grande destruição sobre a terra, e não tereis paz nem perdão do pecado; e, visto que eles se deleitam nos seus filhos,

5“Ye have wrought great destruction on the earth: And ye shall have no peace nor forgiveness of sin: and inasmuch as they delight themselves in their children,

6verão a matança dos seus amados, e sobre a destruição dos seus filhos lamentarão, e farão súplica para sempre; mas misericórdia e paz não alcançareis.

6The murder of their beloved ones shall they see, and over the destruction of their children shall they lament, and shall make supplication unto eternity, but mercy and peace shall ye not attain.”’
