1 Enoque 15

1E ele respondeu e me disse, e ouvi a sua voz: Não temas, Enoque, homem justo e escriba da justiça; chega-te aqui e ouve a minha voz.

1And He answered and said to me, and I heard His voice: ‘Fear not, Enoch, thou righteous man and scribe of righteousness: approach hither and hear my voice.

2E vai, dize aos Vigilantes do céu, que te enviaram a interceder por eles: Vós é que devíeis interceder pelos homens, e não os homens por vós.

2And go, say to the Watchers of heaven, who have sent thee to intercede for them: "You should intercede for men, and not men for you:

3Por que deixastes o céu alto, santo e eterno, e vos deitastes com mulheres, e vos contaminastes com as filhas dos homens, e tomastes para vós mulheres, e fizestes como os filhos da terra, e gerastes gigantes como vossos filhos?

3Wherefore have ye left the high, holy, and eternal heaven, and lain with women, and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men and taken to yourselves wives, and done like the children of earth, and begotten giants as your sons?

4E, embora fôsseis santos, espirituais, vivendo a vida eterna, vos contaminastes com o sangue de mulheres, e gerastes filhos com o sangue da carne, e, como os filhos dos homens, cobiçastes carne e sangue, como fazem também os que morrem e perecem.

4And though ye were holy, spiritual, living the eternal life, you have defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten children with the blood of flesh, and, as the children of men, have lusted after flesh and blood as those also do who die and perish.

5Por isso lhes dei também mulheres, para que as fecundassem e gerassem filhos por meio delas, para que assim nada lhes faltasse na terra.

5Therefore have I given them wives also that they might impregnate them, and beget children by them, that thus nothing might be wanting to them on earth.

6Mas vós éreis antes espirituais, vivendo a vida eterna, e imortais por todas as gerações do mundo.

6But you were formerly spiritual, living the eternal life, and immortal for all generations of the world.

7E por isso não vos designei mulheres; pois, quanto aos espirituais do céu, no céu é a sua habitação.

7And therefore I have not appointed wives for you; for as for the spiritual ones of the heaven, in heaven is their dwelling.

8E agora os gigantes, que foram produzidos dos espíritos e da carne, serão chamados espíritos maus sobre a terra, e na terra será a sua habitação.

8And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling.

9Espíritos maus saíram dos seus corpos; porque nasceram dos homens, e dos santos Vigilantes é o seu começo e origem primeira; serão espíritos maus sobre a terra, e espíritos maus serão chamados.

9Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from the holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin; they shall be evil spirits on earth, and evil spirits shall they be called.

10Quanto aos espíritos do céu, no céu será a sua habitação; mas, quanto aos espíritos da terra, que nasceram sobre a terra, na terra será a sua habitação.

10As for the spirits of heaven, in heaven shall be their dwelling, but as for the spirits of the earth which were born upon the earth, on the earth shall be their dwelling.

11E os espíritos dos gigantes afligem, oprimem, destroem, atacam, pelejam e fazem destruição sobre a terra, e causam angústia; não tomam alimento, e contudo têm fome e sede, e causam tropeços.

11And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble: they take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst, and cause offences.

12E estes espíritos se levantarão contra os filhos dos homens e contra as mulheres, porque saíram deles.

12And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them.
