1 Enoque 25

1E ele me disse: Enoque, por que me perguntas a respeito da fragrância da árvore, e por que desejas conhecer a verdade?

1And he said unto me: ‘Enoch, why dost thou ask me regarding the fragrance of the tree, and why dost thou wish to learn the truth?’

2Então lhe respondi, dizendo: Desejo saber a respeito de tudo, mas especialmente a respeito desta árvore.

2Then I answered him saying: ‘I wish to know about everything, but especially about this tree.’

3E ele respondeu, dizendo: Este alto monte que viste, cujo cume é como o trono de Deus, é o seu trono, onde o Santo e Grande, o Senhor da Glória, o Rei Eterno, se assentará, quando descer para visitar a terra com bondade.

3And he answered saying: ‘This high mountain which thou hast seen, whose summit is like the throne of God, is His throne, where the Holy Great One, the Lord of Glory, the Eternal King, will sit, when He shall come down to visit the earth with goodness.

4E, quanto a esta árvore perfumada, a nenhum mortal é permitido tocá-la até o grande juízo, quando ele tomar vingança de todos e levar tudo à sua consumação para sempre. Então ela será dada aos justos e santos.

4And as for this fragrant tree no mortal is permitted to touch it till the great judgement, when He shall take vengeance on all and bring everything to its consummation for ever. It shall then be given to the righteous and holy.

5O seu fruto servirá de alimento aos escolhidos; ela será transplantada para o lugar santo, para o templo do Senhor, o Rei Eterno.

5Its fruit shall be for food to the elect: it shall be transplanted to the holy place, to the temple of the Lord, the Eternal King.

6Então se alegrarão com alegria e se regozijarão, e entrarão no lugar santo; e a sua fragrância estará nos seus ossos, e viverão uma longa vida sobre a terra, como viveram teus pais; e nos seus dias nenhuma tristeza, nem praga, nem tormento, nem calamidade os tocará.

6Then shall they rejoice with joy and be glad, And into the holy place shall they enter; And its fragrance shall be in their bones, And they shall live a long life on earth, Such as thy fathers lived: And in their days shall no sorrow or plague Or torment or calamity touch them.’

7Então bendisse o Deus da Glória, o Rei Eterno, que preparou tais coisas para os justos, e as criou, e prometeu dá-las a eles.

7Then blessed I the God of Glory, the Eternal King, who hath prepared such things for the righteous, and hath created them and promised to give to them.
