1 Enoque 39

1E acontecerá naqueles dias que filhos escolhidos e santos descerão do alto céu, e a sua descendência se tornará uma com os filhos dos homens.

1And it shall come to pass in those days that elect and holy children will descend from the high heaven, and their seed will become one with the children of men.

2E naqueles dias Enoque recebeu livros de zelo e de ira, e livros de inquietação e de expulsão. E misericórdia não lhes será concedida, diz o Senhor dos Espíritos.

2And in those days Enoch received books of zeal and wrath, and books of disquiet and expulsion. And mercy shall not be accorded to them, saith the Lord of Spirits.

3E naqueles dias um redemoinho me arrebatou da terra e me pôs no fim dos céus.

3And in those days a whirlwind carried me off from the earth, And set me down at the end of the heavens.

4E ali vi outra visão, as moradas dos santos e os lugares de descanso dos justos.

4And there I saw another vision, the dwelling-places of the holy, And the resting-places of the righteous.

5Aqui os meus olhos viram as suas moradas com os seus anjos justos, e os seus lugares de descanso com os santos. E eles pediam, e intercediam, e oravam pelos filhos dos homens; e a justiça corria diante deles como água, e a misericórdia como orvalho sobre a terra. Assim é entre eles para todo o sempre.

5Here mine eyes saw their dwellings with His righteous angels, And their resting-places with the holy. And they petitioned and interceded and prayed for the children of men, And righteousness flowed before them as water, And mercy like dew upon the earth: Thus it is amongst them for ever and ever.

6E naquele lugar os meus olhos viram o Escolhido da justiça e da fé; e a justiça prevalecerá nos seus dias, e os justos e escolhidos serão sem número diante dele para todo o sempre.

6And in that place mine eyes saw the Elect One of righteousness and of faith, And righteousness shall prevail in his days, And the righteous and elect shall be without number before Him for ever and ever.

7E vi a sua morada debaixo das asas do Senhor dos Espíritos. E todos os justos e escolhidos diante dele serão fortes como luzes de fogo, e a sua boca estará cheia de bênção, e os seus lábios exaltarão o nome do Senhor dos Espíritos; e a justiça diante dele nunca faltará, e a retidão nunca faltará diante dele.

7And I saw his dwelling-place under the wings of the Lord of Spirits. And all the righteous and elect before Him shall be strong as fiery lights, And their mouth shall be full of blessing, And their lips extol the name of the Lord of Spirits, And righteousness before Him shall never fail, And uprightness shall never fail before Him.

8Ali desejei habitar, e o meu espírito ansiava por aquela morada; e ali até agora tem estado a minha porção, porque assim foi estabelecido a meu respeito diante do Senhor dos Espíritos.

8There I wished to dwell, And my spirit longed for that dwelling-place: And there heretofore hath been my portion, For so has it been established concerning me before the Lord of Spirits.

9Naqueles dias louvei e exaltei o nome do Senhor dos Espíritos com bênçãos e louvores, porque ele me destinou para a bênção e para a glória, segundo o beneplácito do Senhor dos Espíritos.

9In those days I praised and extolled the name of the Lord of Spirits with blessings and praises, because He hath destined me for blessing and glory according to the good pleasure of the Lord of Spirits.

10Por muito tempo os meus olhos contemplaram aquele lugar, e eu o bendisse e o louvei, dizendo: Bendito é ele, e seja bendito desde o princípio e para sempre.

10For a long time my eyes regarded that place, and I blessed Him and praised Him, saying: ‘Blessed is He, and may He be blessed from the beginning and for evermore.

11E diante dele não há cessar. Ele sabe, antes que o mundo fosse criado, o que é para sempre e o que há de ser de geração em geração.

11And before Him there is no ceasing. He knows before the world was created what is for ever and what will be from generation unto generation.

12Os que não dormem te bendizem; estão diante da tua glória e bendizem, louvam e exaltam, dizendo: Santo, santo, santo é o Senhor dos Espíritos; ele enche a terra de espíritos.

12Those who sleep not bless Thee: they stand before Thy glory and bless, praise, and extol, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Spirits: He filleth the earth with spirits.”’

13E aqui os meus olhos viram todos os que não dormem; estão diante dele, e bendizem, e dizem: Bendito sejas tu, e bendito seja o nome do Senhor para todo o sempre.

13And here my eyes saw all those who sleep not: they stand before Him and bless and say: ‘Blessed be Thou, and blessed be the name of the Lord for ever and ever.’

14E o meu rosto se transformou, porque eu já não podia contemplar.

14And my face was changed; for I could no longer behold.
