1 Enoque 63

1Naqueles dias os poderosos e os reis que possuem a terra lhe implorarão que lhes conceda um pequeno descanso dos seus anjos do castigo, a quem foram entregues, para que se prostrem e adorem diante do Senhor dos Espíritos, e confessem os seus pecados diante dele.

1In those days shall the mighty and the kings who possess the earth implore Him to grant them a little respite from His angels of punishment to whom they were delivered, that they might fall down and worship before the Lord of Spirits, and confess their sins before Him.

2E bendirão e glorificarão o Senhor dos Espíritos, e dirão: Bendito é o Senhor dos Espíritos, e o Senhor dos reis, e o Senhor dos poderosos, e o Senhor dos ricos, e o Senhor da glória, e o Senhor da sabedoria;

2And they shall bless and glorify the Lord of Spirits, and say: ‘Blessed is the Lord of Spirits and the Lord of kings, And the Lord of the mighty and the Lord of the rich, And the Lord of glory and the Lord of wisdom,

3e esplêndido em toda coisa secreta é o teu poder, de geração em geração, e a tua glória para todo o sempre; profundos são todos os teus segredos, e inumeráveis, e a tua justiça está acima de toda conta.

3And splendid in every secret thing is Thy power from generation to generation, And Thy glory for ever and ever: Deep are all Thy secrets and innumerable, And Thy righteousness is beyond reckoning.

4Agora aprendemos que devemos glorificar e bendizer o Senhor dos reis e aquele que é rei sobre todos os reis.

4We have now learnt that we should glorify And bless the Lord of kings and Him who is king over all kings.’

5E dirão: Oxalá tivéssemos descanso para glorificar, e dar graças, e confessar a nossa fé diante da sua glória!

5And they shall say: ‘Would that we had rest to glorify and give thanks And confess our faith before His glory!

6E agora ansiamos por um pouco de descanso, e não o achamos; perseguimo-lo com afinco, e não o alcançamos; e a luz desapareceu de diante de nós, e as trevas são a nossa morada para todo o sempre.

6And now we long for a little rest but find it not: We follow hard upon and obtain it not: And light has vanished from before us, And darkness is our dwelling-place for ever and ever:

7Porque não cremos diante dele, nem glorificamos o nome do Senhor dos Espíritos, nem glorificamos o nosso Senhor; mas a nossa esperança estava no cetro do nosso reino e na nossa glória.

7For we have not believed before Him Nor glorified the name of the Lord of Spirits, nor glorified our Lord But our hope was in the sceptre of our kingdom, And in our glory.

8E no dia do nosso sofrimento e tribulação ele não nos salva, e não achamos descanso para confessar que o nosso Senhor é verdadeiro em todas as suas obras, e nos seus juízos, e na sua justiça, e que os seus juízos não fazem acepção de pessoas.

8And in the day of our suffering and tribulation He saves us not, And we find no respite for confession That our Lord is true in all His works, and in His judgements and His justice, And His judgements have no respect of persons.

9E passamos de diante da sua face por causa das nossas obras, e todos os nossos pecados são contados em justiça.

9And we pass away from before His face on account of our works, And all our sins are reckoned up in righteousness.’

10Então dirão a si mesmos: As nossas almas estão cheias de ganho injusto, mas isso não nos impede de descer do meio dele para o peso do Seol.

10Now they shall say unto themselves: ‘Our souls are full of unrighteous gain, but it does not prevent us from descending from the midst thereof into the burden of Sheol.’

11E depois disso os seus rostos se encherão de trevas e de vergonha diante daquele Filho do Homem, e serão expulsos da sua presença, e a espada permanecerá diante da sua face no meio deles.

11And after that their faces shall be filled with darkness And shame before that Son of Man, And they shall be driven from his presence, And the sword shall abide before his face in their midst.

12Assim falou o Senhor dos Espíritos: Esta é a ordenança e o juízo a respeito dos poderosos, e dos reis, e dos exaltados, e dos que possuem a terra diante do Senhor dos Espíritos.

12Thus spake the Lord of Spirits: ‘This is the ordinance and judgement with respect to the mighty and the kings and the exalted and those who possess the earth before the Lord of Spirits.’
