1E nos confins da terra vi doze portais abertos para todas as regiões do céu, dos quais saem os ventos e sopram sobre a terra.

1And at the ends of the earth I saw twelve portals open to all the quarters of the heaven, from which the winds go forth and blow over the earth.

2Três deles estão abertos na face dos céus, e três no ocidente, e três à direita do céu, e três à esquerda.

2Three of them are open on the face of the heavens, and three in the west, and three on the right of the heaven, and three on the left.

3E os três primeiros são os do oriente, e três são do norte, e três, depois destes, à esquerda, do sul, e três do ocidente.

3And the three first are those of the east, and three are of the north, and three after those on the left of the south, and three of the west.

4Por quatro destes vêm ventos de bênção e de prosperidade, e daqueles oito vêm ventos nocivos; quando são enviados, trazem destruição sobre toda a terra e sobre a água que nela há, e sobre todos os que nela habitam, e sobre tudo o que está na água e na terra.

4Through four of these come winds of blessing and prosperity, and from those eight come hurtful winds: when they are sent, they bring destruction on all the earth and on the water upon it, and on all who dwell thereon, and on everything which is in the water and on the land.

5E o primeiro vento daqueles portais, chamado vento oriental, sai pelo primeiro portal, que está no oriente, inclinando-se para o sul; dele saem a desolação, a seca, o calor e a destruição.

5And the first wind from those portals, called the east wind, comes forth through the first portal which is in the east, inclining towards the south: from it come forth desolation, drought, heat, and destruction.

6E pelo segundo portal, no meio, vem o que é conveniente, e dele vêm a chuva, e a fertilidade, e a prosperidade, e o orvalho; e pelo terceiro portal, que fica para o norte, vêm o frio e a seca.

6And through the second portal in the middle comes what is fitting, and from it there come rain and fruitfulness and prosperity and dew; and through the third portal which lies toward the north come cold and drought.

7E depois destes saem os ventos do sul por três portais: pelo primeiro portal deles, que se inclina para o oriente, sai um vento quente.

7And after these come forth the south winds through three portals: through the first portal of them inclining to the east comes forth a hot wind.

8E pelo portal do meio, ao lado dele, saem cheiros perfumados, e orvalho, e chuva, e prosperidade, e saúde.

8And through the middle portal next to it there come forth fragrant smells, and dew and rain, and prosperity and health.

9E pelo terceiro portal, que fica para o ocidente, saem orvalho e chuva, gafanhotos e desolação.

9And through the third portal lying to the west come forth dew and rain, locusts and desolation.

10E depois destes os ventos do norte: do sétimo portal, no oriente, vêm orvalho e chuva, gafanhotos e desolação.

10And after these the north winds: from the seventh portal in the east come dew and rain, locusts and desolation.

11E do portal do meio vêm, em direção reta, saúde, e chuva, e orvalho, e prosperidade; e pelo terceiro portal, no ocidente, vêm nuvem e geada, e neve e chuva, e orvalho e gafanhotos.

11And from the middle portal come in a direct direction health and rain and dew and prosperity; and through the third portal in the west come cloud and hoar-frost, and snow and rain, and dew and locusts.

12E depois destes quatro estão os ventos do ocidente: pelo primeiro portal, contíguo ao norte, saem orvalho e geada, e frio, e neve, e gelo.

12And after these four are the west winds: through the first portal adjoining the north come forth dew and hoar-frost, and cold and snow and frost.

13E do portal do meio saem orvalho e chuva, e prosperidade e bênção; e pelo último portal, contíguo ao sul, saem seca e desolação, e queimadura e destruição.

13And from the middle portal come forth dew and rain, and prosperity and blessing; and through the last portal which adjoins the south come forth drought and desolation, and burning and destruction.

14E com isto se completam os doze portais das quatro regiões do céu, e todas as suas leis, e todas as suas pragas, e todos os seus benefícios eu te mostrei, meu filho Matusalém.

14And the twelve portals of the four quarters of the heaven are therewith completed, and all their laws and all their plagues and all their benefactions have I shown to thee, my son Methuselah.
