1E então Miguel, Uriel, Rafael e Gabriel olharam do céu e viram muito sangue derramado sobre a terra, e toda iniquidade praticada sobre a terra.

1And then Michael, Uriel, Raphael, and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw much blood being shed upon the earth, and all lawlessness being wrought upon the earth.

2E disseram uns aos outros: A terra, despojada dos seus habitantes, faz subir a voz dos seus clamores até as portas do céu.

2And they said one to another: ‘The earth made without inhabitant cries the voice of their cryings up to the gates of heaven.

3E agora a vós, os santos do céu, as almas dos homens fazem a sua súplica, dizendo: Levai a nossa causa diante do Altíssimo.

3And now to you, the holy ones of heaven, the souls of men make their suit, saying, “Bring our cause before the Most High.”’

4E disseram ao Senhor dos séculos: Senhor dos senhores, Deus dos deuses, Rei dos reis e Deus dos séculos, o trono da tua glória permanece por todas as gerações dos séculos, e o teu nome é santo, e glorioso, e bendito por todos os séculos!

4And they said to the Lord of the ages: ‘Lord of lords, God of gods, King of kings, and God of the ages, the throne of Thy glory standeth unto all the generations of the ages, and Thy name holy and glorious and blessed unto all the ages!

5Tu fizeste todas as coisas, e tens poder sobre todas as coisas; e todas as coisas estão nuas e patentes aos teus olhos, e tu vês todas as coisas, e nada se pode esconder de ti.

5Thou hast made all things, and power over all things hast Thou: and all things are naked and open in Thy sight, and Thou seest all things, and nothing can hide itself from Thee.

6Tu vês o que fez Azazel, que ensinou toda injustiça sobre a terra e revelou os segredos eternos que estavam guardados no céu, os quais os homens se esforçavam por aprender;

6Thou seest what Azâzêl hath done, who hath taught all unrighteousness on earth and revealed the eternal secrets which were preserved in heaven, which men were striving to learn:

7e Semjaza, a quem deste autoridade para governar sobre os seus companheiros.

7And Semjâzâ, to whom Thou hast given authority to bear rule over his associates.

8E eles foram às filhas dos homens sobre a terra, e se deitaram com as mulheres, e se contaminaram, e lhes revelaram toda sorte de pecados.

8And they have gone to the daughters of men upon the earth, and have slept with the women, and have defiled themselves, and revealed to them all kinds of sins.

9E as mulheres deram à luz gigantes, e toda a terra se encheu assim de sangue e de injustiça.

9And the women have borne giants, and the whole earth has thereby been filled with blood and unrighteousness.

10E agora, eis que as almas dos que morreram clamam e fazem a sua súplica às portas do céu, e as suas lamentações subiram, e não podem cessar por causa das obras iníquas que se praticam na terra.

10And now, behold, the souls of those who have died are crying and making their suit to the gates of heaven, and their lamentations have ascended: and cannot cease because of the lawless deeds which are wrought on the earth.

11E tu sabes todas as coisas antes que aconteçam, e vês estas coisas e as permites, e não nos dizes o que havemos de fazer com eles a respeito disto.

11And Thou knowest all things before they come to pass, and Thou seest these things and Thou dost suffer them, and Thou dost not say to us what we are to do to them in regard to these.’
