1 Enoque 96

1Tende esperança, vós justos; porque de repente os pecadores perecerão diante de vós, e tereis domínio sobre eles segundo os vossos desejos.

1Be hopeful, ye righteous; for suddenly shall the sinners perish before you, And ye shall have lordship over them according to your desires.

2E no dia da tribulação dos pecadores os vossos filhos subirão e se levantarão como águias, e mais alto que os abutres será o vosso ninho, e subireis e entrareis nas fendas da terra e nas fendas da rocha para sempre, como os coelhos das rochas, diante dos injustos; e as sereias suspirarão por causa de vós, e chorarão.

2And in the day of the tribulation of the sinners, Your children shall mount and rise as eagles, And higher than the vultures will be your nest, And ye shall ascend and enter the crevices of the earth, And the clefts of the rock for ever as coneys before the unrighteous, And the sirens shall sigh because of you—and weep.

3Por isso não temais, vós que sofrestes; porque a cura será a vossa porção, e uma luz brilhante vos iluminará, e a voz do descanso ouvireis do céu.

3Wherefore fear not, ye that have suffered; For healing shall be your portion, And a bright light shall enlighten you, And the voice of rest ye shall hear from heaven.

4Ai de vós, pecadores, porque as vossas riquezas vos fazem parecer justos, mas os vossos corações vos convencem de que sois pecadores; e este fato será um testemunho contra vós, por memorial das vossas obras más.

4Woe unto you, ye sinners, for your riches make you appear like the righteous, But your hearts convict you of being sinners, And this fact shall be a testimony against you for a memorial of your evil deeds.

5Ai de vós, que devorais a flor do trigo, e bebeis vinho em grandes taças, e pisais os humildes com a vossa força.

5Woe to you who devour the finest of the wheat, And drink wine in large bowls, And tread under foot the lowly with your might.

6Ai de vós, que bebeis água de toda fonte; porque de repente sereis consumidos e secareis, porque abandonastes a fonte da vida.

6Woe to you who drink water from every fountain, For suddenly shall ye be consumed and wither away, Because ye have forsaken the fountain of life.

7Ai de vós, que praticais a injustiça, e o engano, e a blasfêmia; isto será um memorial contra vós para o mal.

7Woe to you who work unrighteousness And deceit and blasphemy: It shall be a memorial against you for evil.

8Ai de vós, poderosos, que com força oprimis os justos; porque vem o dia da vossa destruição. Naqueles dias muitos e bons dias virão para os justos, no dia do vosso juízo.

8Woe to you, ye mighty, Who with might oppress the righteous; For the day of your destruction is coming. In those days many and good days shall come to the righteous—in the day of your judgement.
