1 Pedro 1

1Pedro, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, aos forasteiros que estão espalhados em Ponto, Galácia, Capadócia, Ásia e Bitínia,

1Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2escolhidos segundo o pré-conhecimento de Deus Pai, por meio da santificação do Espírito, para a obediência e a aspersão do sangue de Jesus Cristo. Que a graça e a paz vos sejam multiplicadas.

2Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. Segundo sua grande misericórdia, ele nos regenerou para uma esperança viva, por meio da ressurreição de Jesus Cristo dentre os mortos.

3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4E o resultado disso é uma herança incorruptível, incontaminável, e que não pode ser enfraquecida. Ela está guardada nos céus para vós,

4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5que pela fé estais guardados no poder de Deus para a salvação, pronta para se revelar no último tempo.

5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6Nisso vos alegrais, ainda que agora seja necessário que estejais por um pouco de tempo entristecidos com várias provações,

6Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7para que a prova de vossa fé, muito mais preciosa que o ouro que perece (mesmo sendo provado pelo fogo), seja achada em louvor, honra, e glória, na revelação de Jesus Cristo.

7That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8A ele, sem terdes visto, vós o amais. Ainda que não estejais o vendo agora, mas crendo nele, vós estais alegres com júbilo indescritível e glorioso.

8Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9Assim estais alcançando o resultado da vossa fé: a salvação das vossas almas.

9Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

10Dessa salvação os profetas que profetizaram a respeito da graça direcionada a vós procuraram entender, e com empenho investigaram,

10Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11procurando saber qual era o tempo ou ocasião que o Espírito de Cristo dentro deles indicava, quando dava prévio testemunho dos sofrimentos de Cristo e das glórias seguintes.

11Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12A eles foi revelado que não foi para eles mesmos, mas sim para nós, que eles prestaram serviço com estas coisas. E agora, elas vos foram anunciadas pelos que, pelo Espírito Santo enviado do céu, vos pregaram o Evangelho. Tais coisas os anjos desejam atentamente observar.

12Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

13Portanto, preparai as vossas mentes, sede sóbrios, e esperai completamente na graça que vos será trazida na revelação de Jesus Cristo.

13Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

14E, como filhos obedientes, não vos conformeis com os maus desejos do passado, de quando éreis ignorantes.

14As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

15Ao contrário; assim como aquele que vos chamou é santo, sede vós também santos em todo o vosso comportamento.

15But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

16Pois está escrito: Sede santos, porque eu sou santo.

16Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

17E, se vós chamais de Pai aquele que, sem acepção de pessoas, julga segundo a obra de cada um, vivei em temor o tempo de vossa peregrinação;

17And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

18e sabei que não foi por coisas destrutíveis, como prata ou ouro, que fostes resgatados da vossa vã maneira de viver que recebestes dos vossos pais,

18Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

19mas sim, pelo sangue precioso, como de um cordeiro sem falha e sem contaminação: o sangue de Cristo.

19But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

20Ele já era conhecido desde antes da fundação do mundo, mas foi manifesto nestes últimos tempos por causa de vós,

20Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

21que, por meio dele, credes em Deus, que o ressuscitou dos mortos e lhe deu glória, para que a vossa fé e esperança estejam em Deus.

21Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

22Uma vez que purificastes as vossas almas na obediência da verdade por meio do Espírito, para o sincero amor fraternal, amai-vos intensamente uns aos outros com um coração puro,

22Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

23visto que nascestes de novo, não de semente que perece, mas sim imperecível, pela viva palavra de Deus, que permanece para sempre.

23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

24Pois toda carne é como a erva, e toda glória humana como a flor da erva. A erva se seca, e sua flor cai;

24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

25mas a palavra do Senhor permanece para sempre. E esta é a palavra que foi evangelizada entre vós.

25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
