1 Timóteo 2

1Por isso eu te exorto, antes de tudo, que se façam pedidos, orações, intercessões e atos de gratidão por todas as pessoas;

1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2pelos reis, e por todos os que estão em posição superior, para que tenhamos uma vida quieta e sossegada, em toda devoção divina e honestidade.

2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3Pois isso é bom e agradável diante de Deus nosso Salvador;

3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4que quer que todas as pessoas se salvem e venham ao conhecimento da verdade.

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5Pois há um só Deus, e um só Mediador entre Deus e os seres humanos: o humano Cristo Jesus.

5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6Ele mesmo se deu como resgate por todos, como testemunho ao seu tempo.

6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

7Para isso fui constituído pregador e apóstolo, instrutor dos gentios na fé e na verdade (estou dizendo a verdade em Cristo, não mentindo).

7Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

8Portanto, quero que os homens orem em todo lugar, levantando mãos santas, sem ira nem briga.

8I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

9De semelhante maneira, as mulheres se adornem com roupa respeitosa, com pudor e sobriedade, não com tranças, ouro, pérolas, ou roupas caras;

9In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

10mas sim, com boas obras, como é adequado às mulheres que declaram reverência a Deus.

10But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

11A mulher aprenda quietamente, com toda submissão.

11Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12Porém não permito que a mulher ensine, nem use de autoridade sobre o marido, mas sim, que esteja em silêncio.

12But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13Pois primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.

13For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14E Adão não foi enganado; mas a mulher foi enganada, e caiu em transgressão.

14And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15Porém ela se salvará tendo parto, se permanecerem na fé, amor, e santificação com sobriedade.

15Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
