2 Clemente 4

1Não O chamemos, pois, somente Senhor, porque isto não nos salvará;

1Let us therefore not only call Him Lord, for this will not save us:

2pois Ele diz: Nem todo o que Me diz: Senhor, será salvo, mas aquele que pratica a justiça.

2for He saith, Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, shall be saved, but he that doeth righteousness.

3Portanto, irmãos, confessemos-n'O em nossas obras, amando-nos uns aos outros, não cometendo adultério, nem murmurando uns dos outros, nem tendo inveja, mas sendo moderados, misericordiosos e bondosos. E devemos ter mútua compaixão e não ser avarentos. Por meio destas obras confessemos-n'O, e não pelas contrárias.

3So then, brethren, let us confess Him in our works, by loving one another, by not committing adultery nor speaking evil one against another nor envying, but being temperate, merciful, kindly. And we ought to have fellow-feeling one with another and not to be covetous. By these works let us confess Him, and not by the contrary.

4E não devemos temer antes aos homens, mas a Deus.

4And we ought not rather to fear men but God.

5Por esta razão, se fizerdes estas coisas, disse o Senhor: Ainda que estejais reunidos Comigo em Meu seio e não guardardes os Meus mandamentos, Eu vos lançarei fora e vos direi: Apartai-vos de Mim, não sei donde sois, vós que praticais a iniqüidade.

5For this cause, if ye do these things, the Lord said, Though ye be gathered together with Me in My bosom, and do not My commandments, I will cast you away and will say unto you, Depart from Me, I know you not whence ye are, ye workers of iniquity.
