1Ouve, povo meu, e recebe as palavras dos meus lábios.

1Hear, my people, and take in the words of my lips.

2Se alguém trouxer presentes a um governante terreno e tiver pensamentos desleais no seu coração, e o governante o souber, não se irará contra ele, não recusará os seus presentes e não o entregará ao juízo?

2If any one bring any gifts to an earthly ruler, and have disloyal thoughts in his heart, and the ruler know this, will he not be angry with him, and not refuse his gifts, and not give him over to judgment?

3Ou (se) um homem se faz parecer bom a outro pelo engano da língua, mas (tem) o mal no coração, então (o outro) não compreenderá a traição do seu coração, e ele mesmo será condenado, uma vez que a sua falsidade era patente a todos?

3Or (if) one man make himself appear good to another by deceit of tongue, but (have) evil in his heart, then will not (the other) understand the treachery of his heart, and himself be condemned, since his untruth was plain to all?

4E quando o Senhor enviar uma grande luz, então haverá juízo para os justos e para os injustos, e ali ninguém escapará à atenção.

4And when the Lord shall send a great light, then there will be judgment for the just and the unjust, and there no one shall escape notice.
