1Pus por escrito a obra de todo homem, e nenhum nascido na terra pode permanecer oculto, nem as suas obras permanecer encobertas.

1I have put every man’s work in writing and none born on earth can remain hidden nor his works remain concealed.

2Vejo todas as coisas.

2I see all things.

3Agora, portanto, meus filhos, em paciência e mansidão passai o número dos vossos dias, para que herdeis a vida sem fim.

3Now therefore, my children, in patience and meekness spend the number of your days, that you inherit endless life.

4Suportai por amor do Senhor toda ferida, toda injúria, toda palavra má e todo ataque.

4Endure for the sake of the Lord every wound, every injury, every evil word and attack.

5Se vos sobrevierem más retribuições, não as devolvais nem ao vizinho nem ao inimigo, porque o Senhor as devolverá por vós e será o vosso vingador no dia do grande juízo, para que não haja vingança aqui entre os homens.

5If ill-requitals befall you, return (them) not either to neighbour or enemy, because the Lord will return (them) for you and be your avenger on the day of great judgment, that there be no avenging here among men.

6Quem de vós gastar ouro ou prata por amor de seu irmão, receberá amplo tesouro no mundo por vir.

6Whoever of you spends gold or silver for his brother’s sake, he will receive ample treasure in the world to come.

7Não injurieis viúvas, nem órfãos, nem estrangeiros, para que a ira de Deus não venha sobre vós.

7Injure not widows nor orphans nor strangers, lest God’s wrath come upon you.
