Apocalipse de Abraão 14

1O anjo me disse: ["Abraão!" E eu disse: "Aqui estou, teu servo."

1The angel said to me: ["Abraham!" And I said: "Here am I, thy servant."

2E ele disse: "Sabe, de agora em diante, que o Eterno te escolheu, Ele a quem amas; tem coragem e usa esta autoridade, até onde eu te ordenar, contra aquele que difama a verdade; não seria eu capaz de envergonhar aquele que espalhou pela terra os segredos do céu e se rebelou contra o Poderoso?

2And he said: "Know from henceforth that the Eternal One hath chosen thee, (He) whom thou lovest; be of good courage and use this authority, so far as I bid thee, against him who slandereth truth; should I not be able to put him to shame who hath scattered over the earth the secrets of heaven and hath rebelled against the Mighty One?

3Dize-lhe: 'Sê tu a brasa ardente da Fornalha da terra; vai, Azazel, às regiões inacessíveis da terra'; [pois tua herança será sobre os que existem contigo, nascidos com as estrelas e as nuvens, com os homens cuja porção tu és e (que) existem por teu intermédio; e tua inimizade é justificação.

3Say to him: 'Be thou the burning coal of the Furnace of the earth; go, Azazel, into the inaccessible parts of the earth; ' [for thy heritage is (to be) over those existing with thee being born with the stars and clouds, with the men whose portion thou art, and (who) through thy being exist; and thine enmity is justification.

4Por essa razão, por tua perdição, desaparece de diante de mim."

4On this account by thy perdition disappear from me."

5E proferi as palavras que o anjo me ensinara.

5And I uttered the words which the angel had taught me.

6E ele disse: "Abraão!" E eu disse: "Aqui estou, teu servo."] E o anjo me disse: "Não lhe respondas, pois Deus lhe deu poder (lit. vontade) sobre aqueles que lhe respondem."

6And he said: "Abraham!" And I said: "Here am I, thy servant."] And the angel said to me: "Answer him not; for God hath given him power (lit. will) over those who do answer him."

7[E o anjo falou comigo uma segunda vez e disse: "Agora, porém, por mais que ele te fale, não lhe respondas, para que sua vontade não tenha curso livre em ti, porque o Eterno e Poderoso lhe deu peso e vontade; não lhe respondas."

7[And the angel spake to me a second time and said: "Now rather, however much he speak to thee, answer him not, that his will may have no free course in thee, because the Eternal and Mighty One hath given him weight and will; answer him not."

8Fiz o que o anjo me ordenara;] e, por mais que ele me falasse, nada lhe respondi.

8I did what was commanded me by the angel;] and however much he spake to me, I answered him nothing whatsoever.
