Apocalipse de Abraão 18

1E, enquanto eu ainda recitava o cântico, a boca do fogo que estava sobre a superfície se ergueu às alturas.

1And while I still recited the song, the mouth of the fire which was on the surface rose up on high.

2Ouvi uma voz como o rugido do mar, e ela não cessou por causa da grande abundância do fogo.

2And I heard a voice like the roaring of the sea nor did it cease on account of the rich abundance of the fire.

3E, à medida que o fogo se erguia, subindo às alturas, vi sob ele um trono de fogo e, ao redor do trono, seres que tudo veem, recitando o cântico; sob o trono havia quatro seres vivos de fogo, cantando, e a aparência deles era una, cada um com quatro rostos.

3And as the fire raised itself up, ascending into the height, I saw under the fire a throne of fire, and, round about it all-seeing ones, reciting the song, and under the throne four fiery living creatures singing, and their appearance was one, each one of them with four faces.

4Assim era a aparência de seus rostos: de leão, de homem, de boi e de águia; quatro cabeças [havia sobre seus corpos] [de modo que os quatro seres tinham dezesseis rostos]; e cada um tinha seis asas, saindo dos ombros, [dos lados] e dos lombos.

4And such was the appearance of their countenances, of a lion, of a man, of an ox, of an eagle; four heads [were upon their bodies] [so that the four creatures had sixteen faces]; and each had six wings; from their shoulders, [and their sides] and their loins.

5Com as (duas) asas dos ombros cobriam o rosto e com as (duas) asas que (saíam) dos lombos cobriam os pés, enquanto estendiam as (duas) asas do meio para voar em linha reta.

5And with the (two) wings from their shoulders they covered their faces, and with the (two) wings which (sprang) from their loins they covered their feet, while the (two) middle wings they spread out for flying straightforward.

6Quando terminaram o cântico, olharam uns para os outros e ameaçaram uns aos outros.

6And when they had ended the singing, they looked at one another and threatened one another.

7E aconteceu que, quando o anjo que estava comigo viu que se ameaçavam, deixou-me e correu até eles, e desviou o rosto de cada ser vivo do rosto que estava diretamente diante dele, para que não vissem os rostos uns dos outros se ameaçando.

7And it came to pass when the angel who was with me saw that they were threatening each other, he left me and went running to them and turned the countenance of each living creature from the countenance immediately confronting him, in order that they might not see their countenances threatening each other.

8E ensinou-lhes o cântico de paz, que tem sua origem [no Eterno].

8And he taught them the song of peace which hath its origin [in the Eternal One].

9Enquanto eu estava sozinho e observava, vi atrás dos seres vivos um carro com rodas de fogo, cada roda cheia de olhos ao redor; sobre as rodas havia um trono, que eu vi, coberto de fogo e cercado por fogo; e eis que um fogo indescritível envolvia uma hoste de fogo.

9And as I stood alone and looked, I saw behind the living creatures a chariot with fiery wheels, each wheel full of eyes round about; and over the wheels was a throne, which I saw, and this was covered with fire, and fire encircled it round about, and lo! an indescribable fire environed a fiery host.

10E ouvi sua voz santa como a voz de um homem.

10And I heard its holy voice like the voice of a man.
