Apocalipse de Paulo 46

1Enquanto eu ainda olhava para a árvore, vi uma virgem que vinha de longe e duzentos anjos diante dela cantando hinos, e perguntei e disse: Senhor, quem é aquela que vem em tão grande glória?

1While I was yet looking upon the tree, I saw a virgin coming from afar and two hundred angels before her saying hymns, and I asked and said: Sir, who is she who comes in so great glory?

2E ele me disse: Esta é Maria, a Virgem, a Mãe do Senhor.

2And he said to me: This is Mary the Virgin, the Mother of the Lord.

3E, aproximando-se, saudou-me e disse: Salve, Paulo! amado de Deus e dos anjos e dos homens.

3And coming near she saluted me and said: Hail, Paul! well-beloved of God and angels and men.

4Pois todos os santos rogaram a meu Filho Jesus, que é meu Senhor, que viesses aqui no corpo, para que te vissem antes de saíres do mundo.

4For all the saints prayed my Son Jesus who is my Lord that thou mightest come hither in the body that they might see thee before thou goest out of the world.

5E o Senhor disse-lhes: Suportai e sede pacientes: ainda um pouco e o vereis, e ele estará convosco para sempre: e de novo todos lhe disseram juntos: Não nos aflijas, pois desejamos vê-lo na carne, porque por meio dele o teu nome foi muito glorificado no mundo, e vimos que ele suportou todos os trabalhos, quer os maiores quer os menores.

5And the Lord said to them: Bear and be patient: yet a little and ye shall see him and he shall be with you for ever: and again they all said to him together: Do not vex us, for we desire to see him in the flesh, for by him Thy name was greatly glorified in the world, and we have seen that he endured all the labours whether of the greater or of the less.

6Isto aprendemos dos que vêm aqui.

6This we learn from those who come hither.

7Pois quando dizemos: Quem é aquele que vos dirigiu no mundo? respondem-nos: Há um no mundo cujo nome é Paulo, ele prega e anuncia Cristo, e cremos que muitos entraram no reino pela virtude e doçura dos seus discursos.

7For when we say: Who is he who directed you in the world? they reply to us: There is one in the world whose name is Paul, he preaches and announces Christ, and we believe that many have entered into the kingdom through the virtue and sweetness of his speeches.

8Eis que todos os justos estão atrás de mim, vindo ao teu encontro, Paulo, e eu venho primeiro por esta causa ao encontro dos que fizeram a vontade de meu Filho e meu Senhor Jesus Cristo, adianto-me primeiro ao encontro deles e não os despeço para serem como errantes, até que se encontrem em paz.

8Behold all the just men are behind me coming to meet thee, Paul, and I first come for this cause to meet them who did the will of my Son and my Lord Jesus Christ, I first advance to meet them and do not send them away to be as wanderers until they meet in peace.
