Didaquê 16

1Sede vigilantes pela vossa vida; que as vossas lâmpadas não se apaguem e os vossos lombos não estejam desapertados, mas sede prontos; pois não sabeis a hora em que o nosso Senhor virá.

1Be watchful for your life; let your lamps not be quenched and your loins not ungirdled, but be ye ready; for ye know not the hour in which our Lord cometh.

2E reuní-vos frequentemente, buscando o que é conveniente para as vossas almas; pois todo o tempo da vossa fé não vos aproveitará, se não fordes aperfeiçoados na última época.

2And ye shall gather yourselves together frequently, seeking what is fitting for your souls; for the whole time of your faith shall not profit you, if ye be not perfected at the last season.

3Pois nos últimos dias os falsos profetas e os corruptores se multiplicarão, e as ovelhas se tornarão lobos, e o amor se tornará ódio.

3For in the last days the false prophets and corrupters shall be multiplied, and the sheep shall be turned into wolves, and love shall be turned into hate.

4Pois à medida que a iniquidade crescer, se odiarão e se perseguirão e se trairão. E então o enganador do mundo aparecerá como um filho de Deus; e fará sinais e maravilhas, e a terra será entregue nas suas mãos; e fará coisas ímpias, que nunca foram desde o início do mundo.

4For as lawlessness increaseth, they shall hate one another and shall persecute and betray. And then the world-deceiver shall appear as a son of God; and shall work signs and wonders, and the earth shall be delivered into his hands; and he shall do unholy things, which have never been since the world began.

5Então toda a humanidade criada virá ao fogo da provação, e muitos serão escandalizados e perecerão; mas os que perseverarem na sua fé serão salvos pela própria Maldição.

5Then all created mankind shall come to the fire of testing, and many shall be offended and perish; but they that endure in their faith shall be saved by the Curse Himself.

6E então os sinais da verdade aparecerão; primeiro um sinal de uma fenda no céu, depois um sinal de uma voz de trombeta, e em terceiro lugar uma ressurreição dos mortos;

6And then shall the signs of the truth appear; first a sign of a rift in the heaven, then a sign of a voice of a trumpet, and thirdly a resurrection of the dead;

7mas não de todos, mas como foi dito: O Senhor virá e todos os Seus santos com Ele.

7yet not of all, but as it was said The Lord shall come and all His saints with Him.

8Então o mundo verá o Senhor vindo sobre as nuvens do céu.

8Then shall the world see the Lord coming upon the clouds of heaven.
