Didaquê 4

1Meu filho, lembrarás de dia e de noite daquele que te fala a palavra de Deus, e o honrarás como ao Senhor; pois de onde quer que o senhorio fala, ali está o Senhor.

1My child, thou shalt remember him that speaketh unto thee the word of God night and day, and shalt honor him as the Lord; for whencesoever the Lordship speaketh, there is the Lord.

2Além disso, buscarás dia a dia as pessoas dos santos, para que descanses em suas palavras.

2Moreover thou shalt seek out day by day the persons of the saints, that thou mayest find rest in their words.

3Não farás um cisma, mas pacificarás os que contendem; julgarás retamente, não farás distinção de pessoas para repreender pelas transgressões.

3Thou shalt not make a schism, but thou shalt pacify them that contend; thou shalt judge righteously, thou shalt not make a difference in a person to reprove him for transgressions.

4Não duvidarás se uma coisa será ou não será.

4Thou shalt not doubt whether a thing shall be or not be.

5Não sejas encontrado estendendo as mãos para receber, mas recolhendo-as ao dar.

5Be not thou found holding out thy hands to receive, but drawing them in as to giving.

6Se tiveres algo que passe por tuas mãos, darás um resgate pelos teus pecados.

6If thou hast ought passing through thy hands, thou shalt give a ransom for thy sins.

7Não hesitarás em dar, nem murmurarás ao dar; pois saberás quem é o bom pagador da tua recompensa.

7Thou shalt not hesitate to give, neither shalt thou murmur when giving; for thou shalt know who is the good paymaster of thy reward.

8Não te afastarás daquele que está em necessidade, mas farás teu irmão partícipe de todas as coisas, e não dirás que algo é teu. Pois se sois copartícipes naquilo que é imperecível, quanto mais nas coisas que são perecíveis?

8Thou shalt not turn away from him that is in want, but shalt make thy brother partaker in all things, and shalt not say that anything is thy own. For if ye are fellow-partakers in that which is imperishable, how much rather in the things which are perishable?

9Não reterás tua mão do teu filho ou da tua filha, mas desde a juventude os ensinarás no temor de Deus.

9Thou shalt not withhold thy hand from thy son or from thy daughter, but from their youth thou shalt teach them the fear of God.

10Não darás ordens ao teu servo ou à tua serva em tua amargura, que confiam no mesmo Deus que tu, para que não deixem de temer o Deus que está sobre ambos; pois Ele vem, não para chamar os homens com respeito de pessoas, mas Ele vem àqueles que o Espírito preparou.

10Thou shalt not command thy bondservant or thine handmaid in thy bitterness who trust in the same God as thyself, lest haply they should cease to fear the God who is over both of you; for He cometh, not to call men with respect of persons, but He cometh to those whom the Spirit hath prepared.

11Mas vós, servos, estareis sujeitos a vossos senhores, como a um tipo de Deus, com vergonha e temor.

11But ye, servants, shall be subject unto your masters, as to a type of God, in shame and fear.

12Odiarás toda hipocrisia e tudo o que não é agradável ao Senhor.

12Thou shalt hate all hypocrisy, and everything that is not pleasing to the Lord.

13Nunca abandonarás os mandamentos do Senhor, mas guardarás as coisas que recebeste, sem nada acrescentar a elas nem tirar delas.

13Thou shalt never forsake the commandments of the Lord but shalt keep those things which thou hast received, neither adding to them nor taking away from them.

14Na igreja confessarás tuas transgressões, e não te apresentarás à oração com uma consciência má. Este é o caminho da vida.

14In church thou shalt confess thy transgressions, and shalt not betake thyself to prayer with an evil conscience. This is the way of life.
