1Toda a sabedoria vem do Senhor e está com ele para sempre.

1All wisdom cometh from the Lord, and is with him for ever.

2Quem pode contar a areia do mar, e as gotas da chuva, e os dias da eternidade?

2Who can number the sand of the sea, and the drops of rain, and the days of eternity?

3Quem pode medir a altura do céu, e a largura da terra, e o abismo, e a sabedoria?

3Who can find out the height of heaven, and the breadth of the earth, and the deep, and wisdom?

4A sabedoria foi criada antes de todas as coisas, e o entendimento da prudência desde a eternidade.

4Wisdom hath been created before all things, and the understanding of prudence from everlasting.

5A palavra de Deus altíssimo é a fonte da sabedoria, e os seus caminhos são mandamentos eternos.

5The word of God most high is the fountain of wisdom; and her ways are everlasting commandments.

6A quem foi revelada a raiz da sabedoria? Ou quem conheceu os seus sábios conselhos?

6To whom hath the root of wisdom been revealed? or who hath known her wise counsels?

7A quem foi manifestado o conhecimento da sabedoria? E quem entendeu a sua grande experiência?

7Unto whom hath the knowledge of wisdom been made manifest? and who hath understood her great experience?

8Há um só sábio, e muito temível: o Senhor, assentado no seu trono.

8There is one wise and greatly to be feared, the Lord sitting upon his throne.

9Ele a criou, e a viu, e a mediu, e a derramou sobre todas as suas obras.

9He created her, and saw her, and numbered her, and poured her out upon all his works.

10Ela está com toda carne segundo o seu dom, e ele a deu aos que o amam.

10She is with all flesh according to his gift, and he hath given her to them that love him.

11O temor do Senhor é honra, e glória, e alegria, e coroa de regozijo.

11The fear of the Lord is honour, and glory, and gladness, and a crown of rejoicing.

12O temor do Senhor alegra o coração, e dá gozo, e alegria, e longa vida.

12The fear of the Lord maketh a merry heart, and giveth joy, and gladness, and a long life.

13Quem teme o Senhor, bem lhe irá no fim, e achará graça no dia da sua morte.

13Whoso feareth the Lord, it shall go well with him at the last, and he shall find favour in the day of his death.

14Temer o Senhor é o princípio da sabedoria, e ela foi criada com os fiéis no ventre.

14To fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and it was created with the faithful in the womb.

15Ela edificou entre os homens um fundamento eterno, e permanecerá com a sua descendência.

15She hath built an everlasting foundation with men, and she shall continue with their seed.

16Temer o Senhor é a plenitude da sabedoria, e ela enche os homens dos seus frutos.

16To fear the Lord is fulness of wisdom, and filleth men with her fruits.

17Enche toda a sua casa de coisas desejáveis, e os celeiros dos seus produtos.

17She filleth all their house with things desirable, and the garners with her increase.

18O temor do Senhor é coroa de sabedoria, fazendo florescer a paz e a saúde perfeita; ambas são dons de Deus; e ele aumenta o regozijo dos que o amam.

18The fear of the Lord is a crown of wisdom, making peace and perfect health to flourish; both which are the gifts of God: and it enlargeth their rejoicing that love him.

19A sabedoria faz chover a ciência e o conhecimento do entendimento, e exalta à honra os que a retêm firmemente.

19Wisdom raineth down skill and knowledge of understanding, and exalteth them to honour that hold her fast.

20A raiz da sabedoria é temer o Senhor, e os seus ramos são longa vida.

20The root of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and the branches thereof are long life.

21O temor do Senhor afasta os pecados, e, onde está presente, desvia a ira.

21The fear of the Lord driveth away sins: and where it is present, it turneth away wrath.

22O homem furioso não pode ser justificado; pois o ímpeto do seu furor será a sua ruína.

22A furious man cannot be justified; for the sway of his fury shall be his destruction.

23O homem paciente suportará por algum tempo, e depois a alegria brotará para ele.

23A patient man will bear for a time, and afterward joy shall spring up unto him.

24Guardará as suas palavras por algum tempo, e os lábios de muitos anunciarão a sua sabedoria.

24He will hide his words for a time, and the lips of many shall declare his wisdom.

25As parábolas do conhecimento estão nos tesouros da sabedoria; mas a piedade é abominação para o pecador.

25The parables of knowledge are in the treasures of wisdom: but godliness is an abomination to a sinner.

26Se desejas a sabedoria, guarda os mandamentos, e o Senhor ta dará.

26If thou desire wisdom, keep the commandments, and the Lord shall give her unto thee.

27Pois o temor do Senhor é sabedoria e instrução, e a fidelidade e a mansidão são o seu deleite.

27For the fear of the Lord is wisdom and instruction: and faith and meekness are his delight.

28Não desconfies do temor do Senhor quando fores pobre, e não te aproximes dele com coração dobre.

28Distrust not the fear of the Lord when thou art poor: and come not unto him with a double heart.

29Não sejas hipócrita diante dos homens, e toma cuidado com o que falas.

29Be not an hypocrite in the sight of men, and take good heed what thou speakest.

30Não te exaltes, para que não caias e tragas desonra sobre a tua alma, e Deus descubra os teus segredos e te derrube no meio da congregação, porque não vieste com verdade ao temor do Senhor, mas o teu coração está cheio de engano.

30Exalt not thyself, lest thou fall, and bring dishonour upon thy soul, and so God discover thy secrets, and cast thee down in the midst of the congregation, because thou camest not in truth to the fear of the Lord, but thy heart is full of deceit.
