Efésios 2

1E vós estáveis mortos em ofensas e pecados,

1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

2nos quais antes andastes conforme o proceder deste mundo, conforme o príncipe do poder do ar, do espírito que agora opera nos filhos da desobediência.

2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

3Entre esses também todos nós antes andávamos nos desejos da nossa carne, fazendo a vontade da carne e dos pensamentos; e éramos por natureza filhos da ira, como também os outros.

3Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

4Mas Deus, que é rico em misericórdia, pelo seu muito amor com que nos amou,

4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5estando nós ainda mortos em nossas ofensas, nos deu vida juntamente com Cristo (pela graça sois salvos),

5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

6nos ressuscitou, juntamente com ele, e nos fez sentar nos lugares celestiais, em Cristo Jesus;

6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

7para mostrar nos tempos futuros as abundantes riquezas da sua graça, pela sua bondade conosco em Cristo Jesus.

7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

8Porque pela graça sois salvos, por meio da fé; e isto não vem de vós; é dom de Deus;

8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9não por obras, para que ninguém tenha orgulho de si mesmo.

9Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10Pois nós fomos feitos por ele, criados em Cristo Jesus para as boas obras, que Deus preparou para que nelas andássemos.

10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

11Portanto, lembrai-vos de que vós, antes, éreis gentios na carne, e chamados de não-circuncidados pelos que se chamam participantes da circuncisão na carne, feita por mãos humanas;

11Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

12que naquele tempo estáveis sem Cristo, excluídos da comunidade de Israel, e estranhos aos pactos da promessa, não tendo esperança, e sem Deus no mundo.

12That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

13Mas agora em Cristo Jesus, vós que antes estáveis longe, chegastes para perto pelo sangue de Cristo,

13But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

14pois ele é a nossa paz. Dos dois povos ele fez um, e derrubou do meio o muro da separação.

14For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

15Na sua carne ele desfez a inimizade da Lei dos mandamentos que consistia em ordenanças, para criar em si mesmo os dois em um novo homem, fazendo a paz;

15Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

16e pela cruz reconciliar com Deus a ambos num só corpo, matando nela a inimizade.

16And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

17Ele veio, e proclamou o evangelho da paz a vós que estáveis longe, e aos que estavam perto.

17And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

18Pois por meio dele ambos temos acesso ao Pai por um mesmo Espírito.

18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19Portanto, já não sois estrangeiros, nem forasteiros, mas sim, concidadãos dos santos, e membros da família de Deus,

19Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20edificados sobre o fundamento dos apóstolos e dos profetas, do qual Jesus Cristo é a pedra principal da esquina.

20And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21Nele o edifício todo, bem ajustado, cresce para ser um templo santo no Senhor.

21In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22Nele também vós sois juntamente edificados para serdes morada de Deus em Espírito.

22In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
