Evangelho de Pedro 11

1Consideravam, pois, uns com os outros se deviam ir e relatar estas coisas a Pilatos.

1They therefore considered one with another whether to go away and shew these things to Pilate.

2E enquanto ainda pensavam nisso, os céus novamente são vistos a abrir-se, e um certo varão a descer e entrar no sepulcro.

2And while they yet thought thereon, the heavens again are seen to open, and a certain man to descend and enter into the sepulchre.

3Quando o centurião e os que estavam com ele viram tais coisas, apressaram-se durante a noite em ir a Pilatos, deixando a tumba que vigiavam, e declararam tudo o que tinham visto, estando grandemente angustiados e dizendo: Verdadeiramente Ele era o Filho de Deus.

3When the centurion and they that were with him saw these things, they hastened in the night to Pilate, leaving the tomb which they were watching, and declared all things which they had seen, being greatly distressed and saying, Truly he was the Son of God.

4Pilatos respondeu e disse: Eu estou limpo do sangue do Filho de Deus; fostes vós, porém, que decidistes isto.

4Pilate answered and said, I am pure from the blood of the Son of God: but it was ye who determined this.

5Então todos se aproximaram e lhe suplicaram e rogaram que ordenasse ao centurião e aos soldados que nada dissessem a respeito do que tinham visto; pois disseram: Melhor nos é ser culpados do maior pecado diante de Deus do que cair nas mãos do povo dos judeus e sermos apedrejados.

5Then they all drew near and besought him and entreated him to command the centurion and the soldiers to say nothing of the things which they had seen: For it is better, say they, for us to be guilty of the greatest sin before God, and not to fall into the hands of the people of the Jews and to be stoned.

6Pilatos, pois, ordenou ao centurião e aos soldados que nada dissessem.

6Pilate therefore commanded the centurion and the soldiers to say nothing.
