Evangelho de Pedro 4

1E trouxeram dois malfeitores, e crucificaram o Senhor entre eles.

1And they brought two malefactors, and they crucified the Lord between them.

2Ele, porém, guardou silêncio, como quem não sentia dor alguma.

2But he held his peace, as though having no pain.

3E havendo erguido a cruz, escreveram a inscrição: Este é o rei de Israel.

3And when they had raised the cross, they wrote the title: This is the king of Israel.

4E tendo colocado as suas vestes diante dele, repartiram-nas entre si, e lançaram sortes sobre elas.

4And having set his garments before him they parted them among them, and cast lots for them.

5E um daqueles malfeitores os repreendeu, dizendo: Nós, pelos males que praticamos, sofremos assim; mas este homem, que se tornou o Salvador dos homens, que mal vos fez?

5And one of those malefactors reproached them, saying, We for the evils that we have done have suffered thus, but this man, who hath become the Saviour of men, what wrong hath he done to you?

6E eles, irados contra ele, ordenaram que não lhe quebrassem as pernas, para que morresse em tormento.

6And they, being angered at him, commanded that his legs should not be broken, that he might die in torment.
