Gálatas 1

1Paulo, apóstolo (não da parte dos seres humanos, nem por meio de homem algum, mas sim por Jesus Cristo, e por Deus Pai, que o ressuscitou dos mortos),

1Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;)

2e todos os irmãos que estão comigo, para as igrejas da Galácia.

2And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

3Graça seja convosco, e também a paz de Deus Pai, e do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,

3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

4que deu a si mesmo pelos nossos pecados, para nos tirar da presente era maligna, conforme a vontade do nosso Deus e Pai,

4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

5ao qual seja a glória para todo o sempre, Amém!

5To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

6Admiro-me de que tão rapidamente desviastes daquele que vos chamou na graça de Cristo, em troca de outro evangelho.

6I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

7Não que haja outro evangelho, porém há alguns que vos inquietam, e querem perverter o Evangelho de Cristo.

7Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

8Porém, ainda que nós mesmos, ou um anjo do céu vos anuncie outro evangelho além do que já vos anunciamos, maldito seja.

8But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

9Como já havíamos dito, volto também agora a dizer: se alguém vos anunciar outro evangelho além do que já recebestes, maldito seja.

9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

10Pois agora estou buscando a aprovação das pessoas, ou a de Deus? Ou procuro agradar a pessoas? Pois, se ainda tentasse agradar a pessoas, eu não seria servo de Cristo.

10For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

11Mas faço-vos saber, irmãos, que o Evangelho anunciado por mim não se baseia em pessoas;

11But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12pois não o recebi, nem aprendi de ser humano algum, mas sim pela revelação de Jesus Cristo.

12For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

13Pois já ouvistes da minha conduta no judaísmo, como em excesso eu perseguia e tentava destruir a Igreja de Deus;

13For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

14e como no judaísmo eu era mais avançado que muitos de minha idade em minha nação, e era extremamente zeloso das tradições de meus pais.

14And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

15Mas quando Deus ( que me separou desde o ventre da minha mãe, e por sua graça me chamou ) se agradou

15But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

16de revelar o seu Filho em mim, para eu evangelizar os gentios, de imediato, não fui pedir conselho com pessoa alguma;

16To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood:

17nem subi a Jerusalém para os que já eram apóstolos antes de mim; em vez disso, parti para a Arábia, e voltei outra vez a Damasco.

17Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.

18Então, depois de três anos, subi a Jerusalém para visitar Pedro, e estive com ele por quinze dias.

18Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days.

19E vi nenhum outro dos apóstolos, a não ser Tiago, o irmão do Senhor.

19But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother.

20Ora, das coisas que vos escrevo, eis que, diante de Deus, não estou mentindo.

20Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

21Depois fui para as regiões da Síria e da Cilícia.

21Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia;

22Eu, porém, não era conhecido de rosto pelas igrejas da Judeia que estão em Cristo;

22And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ:

23mas somente haviam ouvido que “Aquele que antes nos perseguia agora anuncia a fé que antes tentava destruir”.

23But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed.

24E glorificavam a Deus por causa de mim.

24And they glorified God in me.
