Hebreus 3

1Portanto, santos irmãos, participantes do chamado celestial, considerai o Apóstolo e Sumo Sacerdote da nossa declaração de fé, Cristo Jesus.

1Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2Ele é fiel àquele que o constituiu, assim como Moisés também foi em toda a casa de Deus.

2Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3Pois ele é estimado como digno de maior glória do que Moisés, assim como mais honra do que a casa tem quem a construiu.

3For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

4Porque toda casa é construída por alguém; mas aquele que construiu todas as coisas é Deus.

4For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.

5De fato, Moisés foi fiel como servo em toda a casa de Deus, para testemunho das coisas que haviam de ser ditas;

5And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

6mas Cristo é fiel como Filho sobre a sua casa. E nós somos sua casa, se até o fim mantivermos firmes a confiança e o orgulho da nossa esperança.

6But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

7Portanto, como diz o Espírito Santo: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz,

7Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,

8não endureçais os vossos corações, como na provocação, no dia da tentação no deserto;

8Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9onde os vossos pais me tentaram, me provaram, e viram as minhas obras por quarenta anos.

9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

10Por isso me indignei contra essa geração, e disse: “Eles sempre se desviam nos corações, e não conheceram os meus caminhos”;

10Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.

11Então jurei na minha ira: “Eles não entrarão no meu repouso”.

11So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

12Cuidado, irmãos, para que nunca haja em algum de vós coração mau e infiel, que se afaste do Deus vivo.

12Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13Em vez disso, encorajai-vos uns aos outros a cada dia, durante o tempo chamado “hoje”; a fim de que nenhum de vós se endureça pelo engano do pecado.

13But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14Pois nós temos nos tornado participantes de Cristo, se, de fato, mantivermos firme a confiança do princípio até o fim;

14For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

15como é dito: Hoje, se ouvirdes a sua voz, não endureçais os vossos corações, como na provocação.

15While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

16Porque alguns, mesmo ouvindo, provocaram-no à ira, mas não todos aqueles que saíram do Egito por meio de Moisés.

16For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

17E contra quais ele se indignou por quarenta anos? Não foi contra os que pecaram, cujos corpos caíram no deserto?

17But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

18E a quem ele jurou que não entrariam no seu repouso, senão aos que foram desobedientes?

18And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?

19Assim vemos que não puderam entrar por causa da incredulidade.

19So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
