Hebreus 7

1Porque este Melquisedeque, rei de Salém, sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo, o qual se encontrou com Abraão, que estava retornando da matança dos reis, e o abençoou;

1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

2a quem também Abraão deu o dízimo de tudo; primeiramente significa Rei de justiça, e depois também rei de Salém, que é, rei de paz;

2To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

3sem pai, sem mãe, sem genealogia, sem ter princípio de dias, nem fim de vida; porém, sendo feito semelhante ao Filho de Deus, permanece sacerdote para sempre.

3Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

4Considerai, pois, como ele era grande, a quem até o patriarca Abraão deu o dízimo dos despojos.

4Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

5E, realmente, os que dentre os filhos de Levi recebem o sacerdócio têm ordem, segundo a Lei, de receberem os dízimos do povo, isto é, dos seus irmãos, mesmo sendo eles também descendentes de Abraão.

5And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham:

6Mas aquele que não é contado na genealogia deles recebeu dízimos de Abraão, e abençoou ao que tinha as promessas.

6But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises.

7Ora, sem contradição alguma, o menor é abençoado pelo maior.

7And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better.

8Em um caso, homens mortais recebem dízimos; mas no outro, aquele de quem se dá testemunho de que vive.

8And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth.

9E, por assim dizer, até Levi, que recebe os dízimos, pagou dízimos através de Abraão;

9And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.

10pois ele ainda estava no corpo de seu ancestral quando Melquisedeque se encontrou com ele.

10For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

11Portanto, se a perfeição tivesse sido de fato pelo sacerdócio Levítico (pois sob ele o povo recebeu a Lei), que mais necessidade havia de se levantar outro Sacerdote segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque, e não ser chamado segundo a ordem de Arão?

11If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron?

12Pois, ao se mudar o sacerdócio, necessariamente também se faz mudança de Lei.

12For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

13Porque aquele de quem estas coisas são ditas pertence a outra tribo, da qual ninguém serviu ao altar;

13For he of whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

14visto ser evidente que o nosso Senhor é procedente de Judá, tribo da qual Moisés nada falou a respeito de sacerdócio.

14For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.

15E isso ainda é muito mais evidente se, à semelhança de Melquisedeque, levanta-se outro sacerdote,

15And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,

16que foi constituído, não conforme a Lei de um mandamento carnal, mas sim, conforme o poder de uma vida indestrutível.

16Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

17Pois assim ele dá testemunho: Tu és Sacerdote para sempre, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque.

17For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

18Porque há uma revogação do mandamento anterior, por causa da sua fraqueza e inutilidade,

18For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.

19pois a Lei não tornou perfeito nada. Porém, uma esperança melhor é introduzida, e por meio dela nos aproximamos de Deus.

19For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

20E isso não foi feito sem juramento (pois os outros se tornaram sacerdotes sem juramento,

20And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest:

21mas ele foi estabelecido com um juramento daquele que lhe disse: O Senhor jurou, e não se arrependerá: Tu és Sacerdote para sempre, segundo a ordem de Melquisedeque).

21(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

22Assim, Jesus foi feito fiador de um pacto ainda melhor.

22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

23Dos outros, são muitos os que se tornaram sacerdotes, pois pela morte foram impedidos de continuar;

23And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:

24mas ele, porque permanece para sempre, tem um sacerdócio definitivo.

24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.

25Portanto, ele também pode salvar de maneira completa os que se aproximam de Deus por meio dele, visto que ele vive para sempre para interceder por eles.

25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

26Pois nos era conveniente tal Sumo Sacerdote: santo, inocente, incontaminado, separado dos pecadores, e feito mais elevado que os céus;

26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

27que não precisasse, como os sumos sacerdotes, de oferecer sacrifícios diariamente, primeiramente pelos seus próprios pecados, e depois pelos do povo. Pois ele fez isto de uma vez por todas quando ofereceu a si mesmo.

27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

28Porque a Lei constitui por sumos sacerdotes homens que têm fraqueza; mas a palavra do juramento, que veio depois da Lei, constitui o Filho, que se tornou perfeito para sempre.

28For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
