Inácio aos Efésios 17

1Por esta razão o Senhor recebeu unguento sobre a Sua cabeça, para que infundisse a incorrupção sobre a Igreja. Não vos deixeis ungir com o mau odor da doutrina do príncipe deste mundo, para que não vos leve cativos e vos despoje da vida que vos está proposta.

1For this cause the Lord received ointment on His head, that He might breathe incorruption upon the Church. Be not anointed with the ill odour of the teaching of the prince of this world, lest he lead you captive and rob you of the life which is set before you.

2E por que não andamos todos prudentemente, acolhendo o conhecimento de Deus, que é Jesus Cristo? Por que perecemos na nossa insensatez, desconhecendo o dom da graça que o Senhor verdadeiramente nos enviou?

2And wherefore do we not all walk prudently, receiving the knowledge of God, which is Jesus Christ? Why perish we in our folly, not knowing the gift of grace which the Lord hath truly sent?
