Inácio aos Efésios 20

1Se Jesus Cristo me julgar digno pelas vossas orações, e se for da vontade divina, em meu segundo escrito, que tenciono redigir-vos, hei de expor-vos mais amplamente a dispensação da qual comecei a falar, referente ao novo homem Jesus Cristo, a qual consiste na fé n'Ele e no amor para com Ele, na Sua paixão e ressurreição,

1If Jesus Christ should count me worthy through your prayer, and it should be the Divine will, in my second tract, which I intend to write to you, I will further set before you the dispensation whereof I have begun to speak, relating to the new man Jesus Christ, which consisteth in faith towards Him and in love towards Him, in His passion and resurrection,

2mormente se o Senhor me revelar algo. Reuni-vos unanimemente em comum, cada um de vós em particular, individualmente, na graça, em uma só fé e em um só Jesus Cristo, que segundo a carne é da linhagem de Davi, Filho do Homem e Filho de Deus, a fim de que obedeçais ao bispo e ao presbitério com espírito indiviso; partindo um mesmo pão, que é o remédio da imortalidade e o antídoto para que não morramos, mas vivamos para sempre em Jesus Cristo.

2especially if the Lord should reveal aught to me. Assemble yourselves together in common, every one of you severally, man by man, in grace, in one faith and one Jesus Christ, who after the flesh was of David's race, who is Son of Man and Son of God, to the end that ye may obey the bishop and presbytery without distraction of mind; breaking one bread, which is the medicine of immortality and the antidote that we should not die but live for ever in Jesus Christ.
