1Ninguém se engane. Até os seres celestiais, e a glória dos anjos, e os príncipes visíveis e invisíveis, se não crerem no sangue de Cristo, o juízo os aguarda também. Quem puder compreender, compreenda. Não ensoberbeça a ninguém o seu cargo; pois a fé e o amor são tudo em todos, e nada lhes é preferível.

1Let no man be deceived. Even the heavenly beings and the glory of the angels and the rulers visible and invisible, if they believe not in the blood of Christ, judgment awaiteth them also. He that receiveth let him receive. Let not office puff up any man; for faith and love are all in all, and nothing is preferred before them.

2Reparai, contudo, naqueles que professam doutrina estranha concernente à graça de Jesus Cristo que nos alcançou, quão contrários são à mente de Deus. Não têm solicitude pelo amor, nem pela viúva, nem pelo órfão, nem pelo aflito, nem pelo prisioneiro, nem pelo faminto ou sequioso. Da eucaristia e da oração se abstêm, porque não reconhecem ser a eucaristia a carne de nosso Salvador Jesus Cristo, a qual sofreu pelos nossos pecados e a qual o Pai em Sua bondade ressuscitou.

2But mark ye those who hold strange doctrine touching the grace of Jesus Christ which came to us, how that they are contrary to the mind of God. They have no care for love, none for the widow, none for the orphan, none for the afflicted, none for the prisoner, none for the hungry or thirsty. They abstain from eucharist and prayer, because they allow not that the eucharist is the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which flesh suffered for our sins, and which the Father of His goodness raised up.
