Inácio aos Filadélfios 6

1Se, porém, alguém vos apregoar o judaísmo, não lhe deis ouvidos: pois melhor é ouvir o cristianismo de um homem circuncidado do que o judaísmo de um incircunciso. Mas se nem um nem outro falar a respeito de Jesus Cristo, tenho-os como sepulcros e covas de mortos, sobre os quais apenas nomes de homens estão inscritos.

1But if any one propound Judaism unto you, hear him not: for it is better to hear Christianity from a man who is circumcised than Judaism from one uncircumcised. But if either the one or the other speak not concerning Jesus Christ, I look on them as tombstones and graves of the dead, whereon are inscribed only the names of men.

2Fugi, pois, das malignas artes e ciladas do príncipe deste mundo, para que não suceda serdes oprimidos pelas suas maquinações e vos torneis fracos no amor. Pelo contrário, reuni-vos todos com coração indiviso.

2Shun ye therefore the wicked arts and plottings of the prince of this world, lest haply ye be crushed by his devices, and wax weak in your love. But assemble yourselves all together with undivided heart.

3E dou graças ao meu Deus por ter boa consciência no meu convívio convosco, e ninguém pode gloriar-se, em oculto ou às claras, de que lhe tenha sido pesado em coisas pequenas ou grandes. E para todos aqueles entre os quais falei, é a minha oração para que não convertam isso em testemunho contra si mesmos.

3And I give thanks to my God, that I have a good conscience in my dealings with you, and no man can boast either in secret or openly, that I was burdensome to any one in small things or in great. Yea and for all among whom I spoke, it is my prayer that they may not turn it into a testimony against themselves.
