Inácio aos Magnésios 13

1Empenhai-vos, portanto, para serdes confirmados nos preceitos do Senhor e dos Apóstolos, a fim de que prospereis em tudo quanto fizerdes na carne e no espírito, pela fé e pelo amor, no Filho e no Pai e no Espírito, no princípio e no fim, com o vosso venerável bispo, e com a grinalda espiritual bem tecida do vosso presbitério, e com os diáconos que andam segundo Deus.

1Do your diligence therefore that ye be confirmed in the ordinances of the Lord and of the Apostles, that ye may prosper in all things whatsoever ye do in flesh and spirit, by faith and by love, in the Son and Father and in the Spirit, in the beginning and in the end, with your revered bishop, and with the fitly wreathed spiritual circlet of your presbytery, and with the deacons who walk after God.

2Sede submissos ao bispo e uns aos outros, assim como Jesus Cristo o foi ao Pai, e como os Apóstolos o foram a Cristo e ao Pai, para que haja união tanto de carne quanto de espírito.

2Be obedient to the bishop and to one another, as Jesus Christ was to the Father, and as the Apostles were to Christ and to the Father, that there may be union both of flesh and of spirit.
