Inácio aos Romanos 9

1Lembrai-vos nas vossas orações da igreja que está na Síria, a qual tem a Deus por pastor em meu lugar. Somente Jesus Cristo será o seu bispo — Ele e o vosso amor.

1Remember in your prayers the church which is in Syria, which hath God for its shepherd in my stead. Jesus Christ alone shall be its bishop -- He and your love.

2Quanto a mim, envergonho-me de ser contado entre eles; pois nem sequer sou digno, sendo o último de todos e um abortivo; contudo alcancei misericórdia para ser alguém, se tão-somente alcançar a Deus.

2But for myself I am ashamed to be called one of them; for neither am I worthy, being the very last of them and an untimely birth: but I have found mercy that I should be some one, if so be I shall attain unto God.

3O meu espírito vos saúda, e o amor das igrejas que me acolheram em nome de Jesus Cristo, não como a mero viandante; pois até as igrejas que não estavam na minha rota carnal vinham ao meu encontro de cidade em cidade.

3My spirit saluteth you, and the love of the churches which received me in the name of Jesus Christ, not as a mere wayfarer: for even those churches which did not lie on my route after the flesh went before me from city to city.
