Jubileus 41

1No quadragésimo quinto jubileu, na segunda semana, no segundo ano, Judá tomou para seu primogênito Er uma esposa das filhas de Arã chamada Tamar.

1And in the forty-fifth jubilee, in the second week, and in the second year, Judah took for his first-born Er, a wife from the daughters of Aram, named Tamar.

2Mas ele a desprezou e não se deitou com ela, porque sua mãe era das filhas de Canaã, e ele queria tomar para si uma esposa da parentela de sua mãe, mas Judá, seu pai, não o permitia.

2But he hated, and did not lie with her, because his mother was of the daughters of Canaan, and he wished to take him a wife of the kinsfolk of his mother, but Judah, his father, would not permit him.

3E este Er, o primogênito de Judá, era maligno e o Senhor o matou.

3And this Er, the first-born of Judah, was wicked, and the Lord slew him.

4E Judá disse para Onan, seu irmão: "Entre na esposa de teu irmão e exerça a obrigação do irmão do marido nela, e gere uma descendência para teu irmão."

4And Judah said unto Onan, his brother 'Go in unto thy brother's wife and perform the duty of a husband's brother unto her, and raise up seed unto thy brother.'

5Mas Onan sabia que a descendência não seria sua, mas de seu irmão somente, e ele foi a casa da esposa de seu irmão e espalhou a semente no chão, e ele foi maligno aos olhos do Senhor, e Ele o matou.

5And Onan knew that the seed would not be his, but his brother's only, and he went into the house of his brother's wife, and spilt the seed on the ground, and he was wicked in the eyes of the Lord, and He slew him.

6E Judá disse a Tamar, sua nora: "Permaneça na casa de teu pai como uma viúva até Shelá, meu filho, crescer e eu te darei a ele por esposa."

6And Judah said unto Tamar, his daughter-in-law: 'Remain in thy father's house as a widow till Shelah my son be grown up, and I shall give thee to him to wife.'

7E ele cresceu, mas Bedsuel, esposa de Judá, não permitiu que seu filho Shelá casasse. E Bedsuel, esposa de Judá, morreu no quinto ano dessa semana.

7And he grew up; but Bedsu'el, the wife of Judah, did not permit her son Shelah to marry. And Bedsu'el, the wife of Judah, died in the fifth year of this week.

8E no sexto ano Judá levantou-se para tosquiar suas ovelhas em Timnah.

8And in the sixth year Judah went up to shear his sheep at Timnah.

9E eles disseram a Tamar: "Eis que teu sogro vai para Timnah para tosquiar as ovelhas dele." E ela tirou suas roupas de viúva, e vestiu um véu, e se adornou, e sentou-se no portão ao lado do caminho para Timnah.

9And they told Tamar: 'Behold thy father-in-law goeth up to Timnah to shear his sheep.' And she put off her widow's clothes, and put on a veil, and adorned herself, and sat in the gate adjoining the way to Timnah.

10E quando Judá estava indo ele a encontrou, e pensou que ela era uma prostituta, e ele disse a ela: "Deixe-me entrar em ti"; e ela disse a ele para entrar, e ele entrou.

10And as Judah was going along he found her, and thought her to be an harlot, and he said unto her: 'Let me come in unto thee'; and she said unto him Come in,' and he went in.

11E ela disse a ele: "Dê-me meu pagamento." e ele disse a ela: "Eu não tenho nada em minhas mãos salvo meu anel que está em meu dedo, e meu colar, e meu cajado que está em minha mão."

11And she said unto him: 'Give me my hire'; and he said unto her: 'I have nothing in my hand save my ring that is on my finger, and my necklace, and my staff which is in my hand.'

12E ela disse a ele: "Dê-os a mim até que tu me envies meu pagamento." E ele disse a ela: "Eu lhe enviarei um cabrito." E ele os deu a ela, e ele se uniu a ela, e ela concebeu dele.

12And she said unto him 'Give them to me until thou dost send me my hire', and he said unto her: 'I will send unto thee a kid of the goats'; and he gave them to her, and he went in unto her, and she conceived by him.

13E Judá foi até seu rebanho, e ela foi para a casa do pai dela.

13And Judah went unto his sheep, and she went to her father's house.

14E Judá enviou um cabrito pelas mãos do seu pastor, um Adulamita, e ele não a encontrou; e ele perguntou para as pessoas do lugar dizendo: "Onde está a prostituta que estava aqui?" E eles disseram a ele: "Não há nenhuma prostituta aqui conosco."

14And Judah sent a kid of the goats by the hand of his shepherd, an Adullamite, and he found her not; and he asked the people of the place, saying: 'Where is the harlot who was here?' And they said unto him; 'There is no harlot here with us.'

15E ele retornou e o informou, e disse a ele que ele não a encontrara: "Eu perguntei para as pessoas do lugar, e eles disseram a mim, não há prostituta aqui."

15And he returned and informed him, and said unto him that he had not found her: 'I asked the people of the place, and they said unto me: "There is no harlot here." '

16E ele disse: "Deixemos que ela fique com eles para que não nos tornemos causa de escárnio." E quando ela completou três meses ficou manifesto que ela estava grávida, e eles disseram a Judá dizendo: "Eis que Tamar, tua nora, está grávida por prostituição!"

16And he said: 'Let her keep them lest we become a cause of derision.' And when she had completed three months, it was manifest that she was with child, and they told Judah, saying: 'Behold Tamar, thy daughter-in-law, is with child by whoredom.'

17E Judá foi a casa do pai dela e disse ao pai dela e a seus irmãos: "Tragam-na para fora e deixem-nos queimá-la, porque ela trouxe imundície para Israel!"

17And Judah went to the house of her father, and said unto her father and her brothers: 'Bring her forth, and let them burn her, for she hath wrought uncleanness in Israel.'

18E aconteceu quando eles a trouxeram para fora para queimá-la, que ela enviou a seu sogro o anel, o colar e o cajado dizendo: "Discirna de quem são estes, porque dele estou grávida."

18And it came to pass when they brought her forth to burn her that she sent to her father-in-law the ring and the necklace, and the staff, saying: 'Discern whose are these, for by him am I with child.'

19E Judá percebeu e disse: "Tamar é mais justa do que eu.

19And Judah acknowledged, and said: 'Tamar is more righteous than I am.

20Portanto, não a queimem." E por esta razão ela não foi dada a Shelá, e ele não mais se achegou a ela

20And therefore let them burn her not' And for that reason she was not given to Shelah, and he did not again approach her.

21E depois disso ela deu a luz a dois filhos, Perez e Zerá, no sétimo ano desta segunda semana.

21And after that she bare two sons, Perez and Zerah, in the seventh year of this second week.

22E então os sete anos de abundância foram completos, dos quais José falou ao Faraó.

22And thereupon the seven years of fruitfulness were accomplished, of which Joseph spake to Pharaoh.

23E Judá percebeu que a obra que ele havia praticado era má, porque ele havia se deitado com sua nora, e ele estimou isto odioso a seus olhos, e ele percebeu que ele tinha transgredido e se desviado, porque ele havia descoberto a saia de seu filho, e ele começou a lamentar e a suplicar diante do Senhor por sua transgressão.

23And Judah acknowledged that the deed which he had done was evil, for he had lain with his daughter-in-law, and he esteemed it hateful in his eyes, and he acknowledged that he had transgressed and gone astray, for he had uncovered the skirt of his son, and he began to lament and to supplicate before the Lord because of his transgression.

24E nós lhe contamos em um sonho que isto lhe estava perdoado porque ele suplicou fervorosamente, lamentou, e não mais cometeu isto.

24And we told him in a dream that it was forgiven him because he supplicated earnestly, and lamented, and did not again commit it.

25E ele recebeu perdão porque ele virou-se de seu pecado e de sua ignorância, porque ele transgrediu grandemente diante de nosso Deus; e cada um que age assim, cada um que se deita com sua nora, que seja queimado no fogo e que queime nela, porque é imundície e poluição sobre ele, que eles o queimem no fogo.

25And he received forgiveness because he turned from his sin and from his ignorance, for he transgressed greatly before our God; and every one that acts thus, every one who lies with his mother-in-law, let them burn him with fire that he may burn therein, for there is uncleanness and pollution upon them, with fire let them burn them.

26E tu comanda os filhos de Israel para que não haja imundície entre eles, porque cada um que deitar-se com sua nora ou com sua sogra praticou imundície; deixe-os queimar no fogo o homem que se deitou com ela, e da mesma forma a mulher, e Ele desviará a ira e punição de Israel.

26And do thou command the children of Israel that there be no uncleanness amongst them, for every one who lies with his daughter-in-law or with his mother-in-law hath wrought uncleanness; with fire let them burn the man who has lain with her, and likewise the woman, and He will turn away wrath and punishment from Israel.

27E em Judá nós dissemos que seus dois filhos não se deitaram com ela, e por esta razão a descendência dele foi estabelecida para uma segunda geração, e não será exterminada.

27And unto Judah we said that his two sons had not lain with her, and for this reason his seed was stablished for a second generation, and would not be rooted out.

28Porque em uma singularidade de olhar ele buscou pela punição, nominalmente, de acordo com a Lei de Abraão, a qual ele havia ordenado a seus filhos, Judá tinha procurado queimá-la com fogo.

28For in singleness of eye he had gone and sought for punishment, namely, according to the judgment of Abraham, which he had commanded his sons, Judah had sought to burn her with fire.
