Lamentações 3

1Eu sou o homem que viu a aflição pela vara de seu furor.

1I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.

2Guiou-me e levou-me a trevas, e não à luz.

2He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.

3Com certeza se virou contra mim, revirou sua mão o dia todo.

3Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day.

4Fez envelhecer minha carne e minha pele, quebrou meus ossos.

4My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.

5Edificou contra mim, e cercou -me de fel e de trabalho.

5He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.

6Fez-me habitar em lugares escuros, como os que já morrera há muito tempo.

6He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.

7Cercou-me por todos lados, e não posso sair; tornou pesados os meus grilhões.

7He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.

8Até quando clamo e dou vozes, fechou os ouvidos à minha oração.

8Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.

9Cercou meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, retorceu as minhas veredas.

9He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.

10Foi para mim como um urso que espia, como um leão escondido.

10He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.

11Desviou meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me desolado.

11He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate.

12Armou seu arco, e me pôs como alvo para a flecha.

12He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.

13Fez entrar em meus rins as flechas de sua aljava.

13He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.

14Servi de escárnio a todo o meu povo, de canção ridícula deles o dia todo.

14I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.

15Fartou-me de amarguras, embebedou-me de absinto.

15He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood.

16Quebrou os meus dentes com cascalho, cobriu-me de cinzas.

16He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.

17E afastou minha alma da paz, fez-me esquecer da boa vida.

17And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity.

18Então eu disse: Pereceram minha força e minha esperança no SENHOR.

18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:

19Lembra-te da minha aflição e do meu sofrimento, do absinto e do fel.

19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20Minha alma se lembra e se abate em mim.

20My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

21Disto me recordarei na minha mente, por isso terei esperança:

21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22É pelas bondades do SENHOR que não somos consumidos, porque suas misericórdias não têm fim.

22It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23Elas são novas a cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.

23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24O SENHOR é minha porção, diz a minha alma; portanto nele esperarei.

24The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25Bom é o SENHOR para os que nele esperam, para a alma que o busca.

25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26É bom esperar e tranquilo aguardar a salvação do SENHOR.

26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

27É bom ao homem levar o jugo em sua juventude.

27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

28Sente-se só, e fique quieto; pois ele o pôs sobre si.

28He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him.

29Ponha sua boca no pó; talvez haja esperança.

29He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.

30Dê a face ao que o ferir; farte-se de insultos.

30He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach.

31Pois o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre:

31For the Lord will not cast off for ever:

32Mesmo que cause aflição, ele também se compadecerá segundo a grandeza de suas misericórdias.

32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.

33Pois não é sua vontade afligir nem entristecer os filhos dos homens.

33For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.

34Esmagar debaixo de seus pés a todos os prisioneiros da terra,

34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth,

35Perverter o direito do homem diante da presença do Altíssimo,

35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,

36Prejudicar ao homem em sua causa: o Senhor não aprova ) tais coisas.

36To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord approveth not.

37Quem é que pode fazer suceder algo que diz, se o Senhor não tiver mandado?

37Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?

38Por acaso da boca do Altíssimo não sai tanto a maldição como a bênção?

38Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good?

39Por que o homem vivente se queixa da punição de seus próprios pecados?

39Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

40Examinemos nossos caminhos, investiguemos, e nos voltemos ao SENHOR.

40Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.

41Levantemos nossos corações e as mãos a Deus nos céus,

41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

42Dizendo: Nós transgredimos e fomos rebeldes; tu não perdoaste.

42We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.

43Cobriste-te de ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste sem teres compaixão.

43Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied.

44Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que nossa oração não passasse.

44Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.

45Tu nos tornaste como escória e rejeito no meio dos povos.

45Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people.

46Todos os nossos inimigos abriram sua boca contra nós.

46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.

47Medo e cova vieram sobre nós, devastação e destruição.

47Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction.

48Rios de águas correm de meus olhos, por causa da destruição da filha de meu povo.

48Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.

49Meus olhos destilam, e não cessam; não haverá descanso,

49Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,

50Até que o SENHOR preste atenção, e veja desde os céus.

50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.

51Meus olhos afligem minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas de minha cidade.

51Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

52Sem motivo meus inimigos me caçam como a um passarinho.

52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.

53Tentaram tirar minha vida na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.

53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.

54As águas inundaram sobre minha cabeça; eu disse: É o meu fim.

54Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.

55Invoquei o teu nome, SENHOR, desde a cova profunda.

55I called upon thy name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.

56Ouviste minha voz: não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.

56Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my breathing, at my cry.

57Tu te achegaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.

57Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee: thou saidst, Fear not.

58Defendeste, Senhor, as causas de minha alma; redimiste minha vida.

58O Lord, thou hast pleaded the causes of my soul; thou hast redeemed my life.

59Viste, SENHOR, a maldade que me fizeram; julga minha causa.

59O LORD, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.

60Viste toda a vingança deles, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim.

60Thou hast seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.

61Ouvido os seus insultos, ó SENHOR, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim;

61Thou hast heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;

62As coisas ditas pelos que se levantam contra mim, e seu planos contra mim o dia todo.

62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.

63Olha para tudo quanto eles fazem; com canções zombam de mim.

63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their musick.

64Retribui-lhes, SENHOR, conforme a obra de suas mãos.

64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.

65Dá-lhes angústia de coração, tua maldição a eles.

65Give them sorrow of heart, thy curse unto them.

66Persegue-os com ira, e destrua-os de debaixo dos céus do SENHOR.

66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
