Lucas 4

1E Jesus, cheio do Espírito Santo, voltou do Jordão, e foi levado pelo Espírito ao deserto.

1And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

2E por quarenta dias foi tentado pelo diabo; e não comeu coisa alguma naqueles dias; e terminados eles, depois teve fome.

2Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

3Então o diabo lhe disse: Se tu és Filho de Deus, diz a esta pedra que se transforme em pão.

3And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

4Jesus lhe respondeu: Está escrito que não só de pão viverá o ser humano, mas de toda palavra de Deus.

4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

5E o diabo o levou a um alto monte, e lhe mostrou todos os reinos do mundo num instante.

5And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

6E o diabo lhe disse: Darei a ti todo este poder e sua glória; pois a mim foram entregues, e os dou a quem quero.

6And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

7Portanto, se tu me adorares, tudo será teu.

7If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

8E Jesus lhe respondeu: Para trás de mim, Satanás! Porque está escrito: Adorarás ao Senhor teu Deus, e só a ele servirás.

8And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

9Então o levou a Jerusalém, e o pôs sobre a parte mais alta do templo, e disse-lhe: Se tu és o Filho de Deus, lança-te daqui abaixo.

9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

10Porque está escrito que: Mandará aos seus acerca de ti que te guardem.

10For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

11E que: te sustentarão pelas mãos, para que nunca tropeces com o teu pé em alguma pedra.

11And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

12Jesus lhe respondeu: Dito está: Não tentes ao Senhor teu Deus.

12And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

13E quando o diabo acabou toda a tentação, ausentou-se dele por algum tempo.

13And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

14Então Jesus, no poder do Espírito, voltou para a Galileia, e sua fama se espalhou por toda a região ao redor.

14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15Ele ensinava em suas sinagogas, e era recebido com honra por todos.

15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16Ele foi a Nazaré, onde havia sido criado, e entrou, conforme o seu costume, num dia de Sábado, na sinagoga; e levantou-se para ler.

16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17Foi-lhe dado o livro do profeta Isaías; e quando abriu o livro, achou o lugar onde estava escrito:

17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18O Espírito do Senhor está sobre mim, porque ele me ungiu para evangelizar os pobres, me enviou para curar os contritos de coração;

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19para proclamar liberdade aos cativos e dar vista aos cegos, para pôr em liberdade os oprimidos, para proclamar o ano agradável do Senhor.

19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20Ele fechou o livro, e devolveu-o ao assistente, e se sentou. Os olhos de todos na sinagoga estavam fixos nele.

20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21Então ele começou a lhes dizer: Hoje esta escritura se cumpriu em vossos ouvidos.

21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

22E todos davam testemunho dele, e se admiravam das palavras graciosas que saíam da sua boca; e diziam: Não é este o filho de José?

22And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?

23E ele lhes disse: Sem dúvida me direis este provérbio: Médico, cura a ti mesmo; faz também aqui na tua terra natal todas as coisas que ouvimos terem sido feitas em Cafarnaum.

23And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

24E disse: Em verdade vos digo que nenhum profeta é bem recebido na sua terra natal.

24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

25Porém em verdade vos digo que hava muitas viúvas em Israel nos dias de Elias, quando o céu se fechou por três anos e seis meses, de modo que em toda aquela terra houve grande fome.

25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

26Mas a nenhuma delas Elias foi enviado, a não ser a uma mulher viúva de Sarepta de Sidom.

26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

27E havia muitos leprosos em Israel no tempo do profeta Eliseu; mas nenhum deles foi limpo, a não ser Naamã, o sírio.

27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

28E todos na sinagoga, quando ouviram essas coisas, encheram-se de ira.

28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,

29Então se levantaram, expulsaram-no da cidade, e o levaram até o topo do monte em que sua cidade era construída, para dali o lançarem abaixo.

29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.

30Porém ele passou por meio deles, e se retirou.

30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,

31Ele desceu a Cafarnaum, cidade de Galileia; e ali os ensinava nos sábados.

31And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

32E admiravam o seu ensino, pois a sua palavra era com autoridade.

32And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.

33E estava na sinagoga um homem que tinha um espírito de um demônio imundo, e gritou com alta voz,

33And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,

34dizendo: Ah, que temos contigo, Jesus Nazareno? Vieste para nos destruir? Sei quem és: o Santo de Deus.

34Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.

35E Jesus o repreendeu, dizendo: Cala-te, e, sai dele. E o demônio o derrubou no meio do povo, e saiu dele sem lhe fazer dano algum.

35And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.

36E espanto veio sobre todos; e falavam entre si uns aos outros, dizendo: Que palavra é esta, que até aos espíritos imundos ele manda com autoridade e poder, e eles saem?

36And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.

37E sua fama era divulgada em todos os lugares em redor daquela região.

37And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

38Jesus levantou-se da sinagoga, e entrou na casa de Simão. A sogra de Simão estava doente de uma grande febre, e rogaram-lhe por ela.

38And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.

39Ele se inclinou a ela, e repreendeu a febre, que a deixou. Ela imediatamente se levantou e começou a lhes servir.

39And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

40Quando o sol estava se pondo, troxeram-lhe todos os que estavam enfermos de varias doenças. Ele punha as mãos sobre cada um deles e os curava.

40Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.

41E também de muitos saíam demônios, gritando, e dizendo: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus. Ele os repreendia, e não os deixava falar, porque sabiam que ele era o Cristo.

41And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.

42E sendo já dia, ele saiu, e foi a um lugar deserto. As multidões o buscavam; então vieram a ele, e queriam detê-lo, para que não os deixasse.

42And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them.

43Porém ele lhes disse: Também é necessário que eu anuncie a outras cidades o evangelho do Reino de Deus; pois para isso sou enviado.

43And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.

44E ele pregava nas sinagogas da Galileia.

44And he preached in the synagogues of Galilee.
