Mateus 10

1Jesus chamou a si os seus doze discípulos, e deu-lhes poder sobre os espíritos imundos, para os expulsarem, e curarem toda enfermidade e toda doença.

1And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

2E os nomes dos doze apóstolos são estes: o primeiro, Simão, chamado Pedro, e seu irmão André; Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e seu irmão João;

2Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother;

3Filipe e Bartolomeu; Tomé, e Mateus o publicano; Tiago, filho de Alfeu; e Lebeu, por sobrenomeTadeu;

3Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus;

4Simão o zeloso, e Judas Iscariotes, o mesmo que o traiu.

4Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

5Jesus enviou esses doze, e lhes mandou, dizendo: Não ireis pelo caminho dos gentios, nem entrareis em cidade de samaritanos.

5These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6Em vez disso, ide às ovelhas perdidas da casa de Israel.

6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

7E quando fordes, proclamai, dizendo: ‘Perto está o Reino dos céus’.

7And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

8Curai os doentes, limpai os leprosos, ressuscitai os mortos, expulsai os demônios; recebestes de graça, dai de graça.

8Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

9Não tomeis convosco ouro, nem prata, nem cobre em vossos cintos;

9Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses,

10nem bolsas para o caminho, nem duas túnicas, nem sandálias, nem bordão; pois o trabalhador é digno de seu alimento.

10Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat.

11E em qualquer cidade ou aldeia que entrardes, informai-vos de quem nela seja digno, e ficai ali até que saiais.

11And into whatsoever city or town ye shall enter, enquire who in it is worthy; and there abide till ye go thence.

12E quando entrardes na casa, saudai-a.

12And when ye come into an house, salute it.

13Se a casa for digna, venha sobre ela a vossa paz; mas se ela não for digna, volte para vós a vossa paz.

13And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you.

14E quem quer que não vos receber, nem ouvir vossas palavras, quando sairdes daquela casa ou cidade, sacudi o pó de vossos pés.

14And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

15Em verdade vos digo que no dia do julgamento mais tolerável será para a região de Sodoma e Gomorra do que para aquela cidade.

15Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

16Eis que eu vos envio como ovelhas em meio de lobos; portanto, sede prudentes como as serpentes e inofensivos como pombas.

16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

17Porém tende cuidado com as pessoas; porque vos entregarão em tribunais, e vos açoitarão em suas sinagogas;

17But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18E até perante governadores e reis sereis levados por causa de mim, para que haja testemunho a eles e aos gentios.

18And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19Mas quando vos entregarem, não estejais ansiosos de como ou que falareis; porque naquela mesma hora vos será dado o que deveis falar.

19But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20Porque não sois vós os que falais, mas sim o Espírito do vosso Pai que fala em vós.

20For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21E irmão entregará irmão à morte, e pai ao filho; e filhos se levantarão contra os pais, e os matarão.

21And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

22E sereis odiados por todos por causa de meu nome; mas aquele que perseverar até o fim, esse será salvo.

22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

23Quando, então, vos perseguirem nesta cidade, fugi para outra; porque em verdade vos digo que não acabareis de percorrer as cidades de Israel, até que venha o Filho do homem.

23But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24O discípulo não é superior ao mestre, nem o servo superior ao seu senhor.

24The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25Seja suficiente ao discípulo ser como o seu mestre, e ao servo como o seu senhor; se ao chefe da casa chamaram de Belzebu, quanto mais aos membros de sua casa!

25It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

26Portanto, não os temais; porque nada há encoberto que não se revelará, nada oculto que não se saberá.

26Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

27O que eu vos digo em trevas, dizei na luz; e o que ouvis ao ouvido, proclamai sobre os telhados.

27What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

28E não temais os que matam o corpo, mas não podem matar a alma; temei mais aquele que pode destruir tanto a alma como o corpo no inferno.

28And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

29Não se vendem dois pardais por uma pequena moeda? Mas nem um deles cairá em terra contra a vontade de vosso Pai.

29Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

30E até os cabelos de vossas cabeças estão todos contados.

30But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

31Assim, não tenhais medo; mais valeis vós que muitos pardais.

31Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.

32Portanto, todo aquele que me der reconhecimento diante das pessoas, também eu o reconhecerei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus.

32Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

33Porém qualquer um que me negar diante das pessoas, também eu o negarei diante de meu Pai, que está nos céus.

33But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

34Não penseis que vim trazer paz à terra. Não vim trazer paz, mas sim espada.

34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

35Porque eu vim pôr em discórdia ‘o homem contra seu pai, a filha contra sua mãe, e a nora contra sua sogra.

35For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

36E os inimigos do homem serão os de sua própria casa’.

36And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

37Quem ama pai ou mãe mais que a mim não é digno de mim; e quem ama filho ou filha mais que a mim não é digno de mim;

37He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

38E quem não toma sua cruz e segue após mim não é digno de mim.

38And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

39Quem achar sua vida a perderá; e quem, por causa de mim, perder sua vida, a achará.

39He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

40Quem vos recebe, recebe a mim; e quem me recebe, recebe aquele que me enviou.

40He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

41Quem recebe um profeta por reconhecê-lo como profeta receberá recompensa de profeta; e quem recebe um justo por reconhecê-lo como justo receberá recompensa de justo.

41He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.

42E qualquer um que der ainda que somente um copo de água fria a um destes pequenos por reconhecê-lo como discípulo, em verdade vos digo que de maneira nenhuma perderá sua recompensa.

42And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
