Odes de Salomão 12

1Encheu-me de palavras de verdade, Para que eu dissesse o mesmo.

1He hath filled me with words of truth, That I may speak the same.

2E como o fluir das águas, flui a verdade da minha boca, E os meus lábios mostraram os seus frutos.

2And like the flow of waters, flows truth from my mouth, And my lips showed forth its fruits.

3E fez o seu conhecimento abundar em mim, Porque a boca do Senhor é a Palavra verdadeira, E a porta da sua luz;

3And it has caused its knowledge to abound in me, Because the mouth of the Lord is the true Word, And the door of His light;

4E o Altíssimo o deu aos seus Mundos. (Mundos) que são os intérpretes da sua própria beleza, E os repetidores do seu louvor, E os confessores do seu pensamento, E os arautos da sua mente, E os instrutores das suas obras.

4And the Most High hath given Him to His Worlds. (Worlds) which are the interpreters of His own beauty, And the repeaters of His praise, And the confessors of His thought, And the heralds of His mind, And the instructors of His works.

5Pois a rapidez da Palavra é inexprimível (?) E como a sua expressão (?) é a sua rapidez e a sua agudeza: E o seu curso não tem limite.

5For the swiftness of the Word is inexpressible (?) And like His expression (?) is His swiftness and His sharpness: And His course has no limit.

6Nunca (a Palavra) cai, mas sempre permanece de pé; A sua descida e o seu caminho são incompreensíveis.

6Never (doth the Word) fall, but ever it standeth; His descent and His way are incomprehensible.

7Pois como é a sua obra, assim é o seu limite; Pois ele é a luz e a aurora do pensamento.

7For as His work is, so is His limit; For He is the light and the dawn of thought.

8E por ele os mundos falaram uns aos outros: E os que estavam em silêncio adquiriram fala.

8And by Him the worlds spake one to the other: And those that were silent acquired speech.

9E dele veio o amor e a concórdia; E falaram uns aos outros o que tinham (a dizer).

9And from Him came love and concord; And they spake one to the other what they had (to tell).

10E foram estimulados pela Palavra, E conheceram aquele que os fez, Porque entraram em concórdia.

10And they were stimulated by the Word, And they knew Him that made them, Because they came into concord.

11Pois a boca do Altíssimo lhes falou; E a interpretação de si mesmo teve o seu curso por ele.

11For the mouth of the Most High spake to them; And the interpretation of Himself had its course by Him.

12Pois a morada da Palavra é o homem, E a sua verdade é o amor.

12For the dwelling-place of the Word is man, And His truth is love.

13Bem-aventurados os que por ela compreenderam tudo, E que conheceram o Senhor pela sua verdade. Aleluia.

13Blessed are they who by it have comprehended everything, And who have known the Lord by His truth. Hallelujah.
