Odes de Salomão 16

1Como a obra do lavrador é o arado; E a obra do timoneiro é o governo do navio; Assim também a minha obra é o Salmo do Senhor nos seus louvores;

1As the work of the husbandman is the ploughshare; And the work of the steersman is the guidance of the ship; So also my work is the Psalm of the Lord in His praises;

2O meu ofício e a minha ocupação estão nos seus louvores; Porque o seu amor alimentou o meu coração, E até os meus lábios derramou os seus frutos.

2My craft and my occupation are in His praises; Because His love hath nourished my heart, And even to my lips His fruits He poured out.

3Pois o meu amor é o Senhor E por isso cantarei a ele.

3For my love is the Lord And therefore I will sing unto Him.

4Pois sou fortalecido no seu louvor, E tenho fé nele.

4For I am made strong in His praise, And I have faith in Him.

5Abrirei a minha boca, E o seu espírito proferirá em mim A glória do Senhor e a sua beleza;

5I will open my mouth, And His spirit will utter in me The glory of the Lord and His beauty;

6A obra das suas mãos E o feitio dos seus dedos;

6The work of His hands And the fabric of His fingers;

7Pela multidão das suas misericórdias, E pela força da sua Palavra.

7For the multitude of His mercies, And the strength of His Word.

8Pois a Palavra do Senhor perscruta a coisa invisível, E examina o seu pensamento.

8For the Word of the Lord searches out the unseen thing, And scrutinizes His thought.

9Pois o olho vê as suas obras, E o ouvido ouve o seu pensamento.

9For the eye sees His works, And the ear hears His thought.

10Foi ele quem estendeu a terra, E firmou as águas no mar:

10It is He who spread out the earth, And settled the waters in the sea:

11Expandiu os céus, E fixou as estrelas;

11He expanded the heavens, And fixed the stars;

12E fixou a criação e a estabeleceu: E descansou das suas obras.

12And He fixed the creation and set it up: And He rested from His works.

13E as coisas criadas correm nos seus cursos, E fazem as suas obras: E não sabem parar (quietas) e ficar ociosas.

13And created things run in their courses, And work their works: And they know not how to stand (still) and to be idle.

14E as hostes estão sujeitas à sua Palavra.

14And the hosts are subject to His Word.

15O tesouro da luz é o sol, E o tesouro da escuridão é a noite.

15The treasury of the light is the sun, And the treasury of the darkness is the night.

16E fez o sol para o dia, para que fosse brilhante; Mas a noite traz a escuridão sobre a face da terra:

16And He made the sun for the day that it might be bright; But night brings darkness over the face of the earth:

17E (pela) recepção de uma à outra Falam a beleza de Deus.

17And (by) their reception one from the other They speak the beauty of God.

18E não há nada que esteja sem o Senhor; Pois ele existia antes que qualquer coisa viesse a ser.

18And there is nothing that is without the Lord; For He was before anything came into being.

19E os Mundos foram feitos pela sua Palavra, E pelo pensamento do seu coração.

19And the Worlds were made by His Word, And by the thought of His heart.

20Glória e Honra ao seu nome. Aleluia.

20Glory and Honour to His name. Hallelujah.
