Odes de Salomão 5

1Dar-te-ei graças, ó Senhor; Porque te amo:

1I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord; Because I love thee:

2Ó Altíssimo, não me abandones, Pois tu és a minha esperança.

2O Most High, do not thou forsake me, For thou art my hope.

3De graça recebi a tua graça; Por ela viverei.

3Freely I have received thy grace; I shall live thereby.

4Os meus perseguidores virão, mas que não me vejam.

4My persecutors will come but let them not see me.

5Caia uma nuvem de trevas sobre os seus olhos, E um ar de espessa escuridão os obscureça.

5Let a cloud of darkness fall on their eyes, And let an air of thick gloom darken them.

6E não tenham luz para ver, Para que não me possam apanhar.

6And let them have no light to see, That they may take hold upon me.

7Torne-se o seu conselho densa escuridão: E o que astutamente planejaram, volte sobre as suas próprias cabeças.

7Let their counsel become thick darkness: And what they have cunningly devised, let it return upon their own heads.

8Pois planejaram um conselho, E ele redundou em nada. (Poderosos como eram, foram vencidos).

8For they have devised a counsel, And it has come to nought. (Powerful as they were, they were overcome).

9Prepararam-se com malícia, E foram achados ineficazes.

9They have prepared themselves maliciously, And were found to be ineffective.

10Pois a minha esperança está no Senhor; E não temerei:

10For my hope is upon the Lord; And I will not fear:

11E porque o Senhor é a minha salvação, Não temerei.

11And because the Lord is my salvation, I will not fear.

12E ele é como uma guirlanda sobre a minha cabeça, E não serei abalado;

12And He is as a garland on my head, And I shall not be moved;

13Ainda que tudo se abalasse, Permaneço firme:

13Even if everything should be shaken, I stand firm:

14E ainda que (todas) as coisas visíveis perecessem, Não morrerei;

14And if (all) things visible should perish, I shall not die;

15Porque o Senhor está comigo, E eu estou com ele. Aleluia.

15Because the Lord is with me, And I am with Him. Hallelujah.
